Team Fortress 2 is a classic hero-based FPS title I spent significant hours playing. I loved the chaotic cast and class-based abilities, especially the aesthetic. With a new update, I jumped back in to see what had been changed. It can be difficult to see all of the game's art style in action, but this can be fixed by changing your field of view. But how do you change FOV in Team Fortress 2?
How to change Field of View in Team Fortress 2
When changing your FOV in Team Fortress 2, you can alter the FOV for your weapon and character model. I recommend playing around with both of these settings until you find your desired preference. That said, let's figure out how to change FOV in TF2 for your weapon and model.
How to change Weapon FOV in TF2
- Activate Developer Console mode.
- Go to Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Toggle Developer Console.
- Press the ~ key.
- Type fov_desired (Desired Number)

So, for example, if I wanted to set my FOV to 90, I would type in the command fov_desired 90. This will change your weapon's FOV, but you can also change your character's model FOV. This is basically the same process but with a different command.
How to change Model FOV in TF2
- Activate Developer Console mode.
- Go to Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Toggle Developer Console.
- Press the ~ key.
- Type viewmodel_fov (Desired Number)
Like the weapon FOV, you would enter the desired number for your model FOV. The command would look like viewmodel_fov 90. You are free to undo both weapon and model FOV whenever you wish, so don't be afraid to experiment.
