Tekken 8 Jun Beginner’s Guide (Combos)

The central figure of Tekken has finally returned!

Jun Kazama is a legacy Tekken character, but she hasn't appeared in the mainline series ever since Tekken 2. We know how challenging this mysterious woman is for beginners, and this Tekken 8 Jun beginner's guide is here to make learning easier.

Tekken 8 Jun Tutorial

Jun's style is Kazama-Style traditional Martial Arts, one of the game's top tier fighting styles. You can notice the elements of this style in the moveset of Asuka and Devil Jin (or Tekken 3 Jin). That's because Asuka is Jun's niece, and Jin is her son with Kazuya. Jun's Kazama-Style is a variation of Aiki-Jutsu and Karate. This style has several stances and mighty combos.

Note: This guide uses standard Tekken novelist legend. For the new Tekken players, that means there are numbers instead of buttons. Number 1 is a left punch or X/Square button; number 2 is a right punch or Y/Triangle button. The same goes for kicks; number 3 is the left kick or A/X button, and number 4 is the right kick or B/Circle button.

The movement commands are in letters, so "f" is forward, "b" is back, "u" is up, and "d" is down. The same goes for combination; for example, d/f is down-forward. Capital letters mean holding the direction button instead of just pressing it.

Jun Combos - All Important Moves

All three moves we are going to present are special stances. From these stances, Jun can perform some great attacks, but she can also heal herself or get out of trouble.

  • Izumo (u 2) - This is a small forward jump with a rotation. When used right, it can jump over low kicks and trips and also gives Jun a windup for some heavy shots.
  • Genjutsu (f 3+4) - Genjutsu is a forward-leaning stance that opens for various attacks, including low pokes, overhead strikes, jump kicks and many more.
  • Miare (b 1+2) - Miare is an explosive stance that also heals. Jun can cancel Miare with both Izumo and Genjutsu. The latter is very important In building combos.

Tekken 8 Jun Combo Examples

  • d/f 2 > b 4,2 > f 3,4 > b 2,1,4 - This is a simple Jun combo that starts with a launch and continues into three strings.
  • f 2 > f 3,2 > Izumo 1,1 > Dash 2,3 - This combo uses Izumo stance to add some lateral power into Jun's moves. It starts with a launch and goes into Izumo opener, then ends with a dash combo.
  • u/f 4,3 > Miare F > Genjitsu 4 > b 2,1,4 - Another short combo, but it uses both Miare and Genjitsu. Starts with a kicking combination that opens to Miare. The key moment is the dash you need to perform after Miare, which will switch stance to Genjitsu. After a Genjutsu kick, this combo finishes with the same string as the first one.
