The new looter-shooter The First Descendant has grabbed the attention of players in the looter shooter community. Although the game has mixed reviews on Steam, it has managed to keep players hooked and has a steady player count averaging 170,000 concurrent players daily.
On The First Descendant subreddit, a user with 147 hours of playtime wrote that they were "having a hard time staying off this game", while other players also shared similar thoughts. SamGoingHam mentioned they couldn't get into Destiny 2 because the DLC was unaffordable. Yep, the First Descendant has an edge over its competitors as it can effortlessly draw in more players as a free-to-play game.
Others applauded the game's fresh and smooth gunplay, character abilities, and general gameplay. One of the reasons The First Descendant is so addictive and produced such a high amount of hours played is that there's so much to do, from world exploration to unlocking new weapons and characters.
As further evidence of its success, The First Descendant reached 10 million players in just seven days of its launch.
To keep the player count healthy in the potential years to come, the developers will have to continuously work on making the game better by adding new content from time to time, fixing issues, and listening to community feedback. After seeing the post-launch support so far, it certainly seems they know what they're doing and we're in for a good run.
Players on Twitter also shared how they were enjoying the new anime RPG by NEXON Games. User Ashley tweeted this was "one of the most fun looter shooters" and they "can't wait to make more content and grind the f*** out of the game."
