How does Tribes of Midgard’s Survival mode 2.0 work

Survive, fight, craft!

Survival Mode was an endless version of Tribes of Midgard's Saga mode. In this endless mode, players could hold out against endless hordes of monsters and explore the world at their leisure. However, endless exploration could only be sustained if players protect the Village and the giant tree. All of this has since changed with the Inferno Saga Update and survival mode tasks on a new approach.

Instead of being a glorified endless version of Saga mode, survival mode now stands on its own feet as a unique game mode. Survival mode with the Inferno Saga update now tasks players with building their own base free of obligations of protecting villages or giant trees. Players also don't have to rely on NPCs to craft their items and can now craft everything they need with a new Allforge. Once the Allforge is placed, players can use it to place new crafting stations that allow players to craft all items that Saga mode NPCs used to make. Here's a list of some of the crafting stations that places can build in Survival mode 2.0

  • Weapon Furnace: This station is used to craft weapons in Tribes of Midgard's Survival mode.
  • Tool Grinder: If players want to make tools, they will need to build and place a Tool Grinder.
  •  Meal Cauldron: The Meal Cauldron is used to make potions and buff items.

Players can also use the Allforge to build a base similar to other Survival games such as Valheim, I.E placing walls, doors, stairs, etc. That said, other changes to survival mode include the following:

  • Boss Arenas: All Jotnar that previously would attack the Village can now be found inside select areas and can be killed for a plethora of Dark materials and XP.
  • Saga Bosses are now Ancients: All previous Saga bosses can be encountered again and fought to gain unique rewards in Survival Mode 2.0
  • Bigger Worlds: Tribes of Midgard world generation is now larger and allows for players to use boats to explore other areas from a large central continent.
  • New Skill Tree: Players now pick their skills in Survival Mode 2.0 from a special Blessings skill tree with over 90 skills to choose from.
