What are runes in Tribes of Midgard – How to get & use them?

Runes are special items that give buffs in Tribes of Midgard. To get these runes, you will need to loot treasure chests, get them as drops from enemies and use the golden chest in the main hut in the village.

Starting with the best method, looting treasure chests is a sure-fire way to get various runes, as they tend to drop often. You can find these treasure chests in camps, which you can find via the wood campfire icons on the map. 

These treasure chests also come in several variants, and depending on the variant and level, you will get rarer and better runes. But along with treasure chests, you can also get runes occasionally from slaying the various enemies, among other item drops like golden horns.

Because of this, the best way to get runes would be to farm camps as you will find both enemies and treasure chests, and if you go for larger camps, you have a chance to get even better runes like the golden egg.

For the final method of getting runes, you will need to head back to the village and locate the golden chest hut behind the healer and quest board. Inside this big hut, you will find a chest, and if you walk up to it and hit use on it, you can use golden horns to open it and potentially get other items and runes as rewards
