Vampire Survivors, the Castlevania-themed, shoot-em-up, wave-survival game, the multiple weapons you can unlock all have evolutions. Each of these Evolutions advances a weapon to its final state, in most cases adding an extra ability to the weapon.
To evolve a weapon in Vampire Survivors, you must level up one of the weapons to level eight, have also picked a corresponding item to get the upgrade, and then pick up a chest after the 10 minutes mark. This chest doesn’t have to be the 10-minute boss chest, but clearing the boss will always drop a chest.
Below is a list of all the weapon Evolutions, the item you need to unlock them, and the added ability.
Weapon | Upgrade Item | Upgraded Weapon | Effect |
Axe | Candelabra | Death Spiral | Passes through unlimited enemies |
Cross | Clover | Heaven Sword | Automatic critical hits |
Fire Wand | Spinich | Hellfire | Passes through unlimited enemies |
Garlic | Pummarola | Soul Eater | Killing enemies restores health |
King Bible | Spell Binder | Unholy Vespers | Bibles constantly orbit you |
Knife | Bracer | Thousand Edge | Knives never stop firing |
Lightning Ring | Duplicator | Thunder Loop | Lightning strikes twice, dealing double damage |
Magic Wand | Empty Tome | Holy Wand | Constant firing of magic bolts |
Song of Mana | Skull O'Maniac | Mannajja | Wider area of effect and knockback |
Whip | Hollow Heart | Bloody Tear | Automatic critical hits and absorbs health |
And those are all the weapon Evolutions in Vampire Survivors. Remember that while evolved weapons are definitely the best weapons in the game, trying to rush an evolved weapon can end in disaster for a run. Instead, you might want to make sure you have a good set of basic abilities before focusing on one or two Evolutions.
