War Mongrels is a real-time tactics strategy game set within World War II. Players assume the role of two deserter soldiers from the German army. While this game may appear to be a single-player experience, it does offer online co-op. Players can do this with friends or strangers.
From the main menu, players have the option to either host or join a multiplayer game. Joining a multiplayer game allows the player to select a friend's game or join a stranger's game. They can select open games based on what chapters the host has set it to.

When hosting a game, players can decide which chapter they would like to play. As of now, there are no options to lock the game to friends only or create a private lobby. Once hosting a game, the lobby becomes available to all online players.
Playing in co-op allows the entire campaign to be played together. This means you and a friend can completely play through the campaign of War Mongrels, even pausing and taking breaks. You can also start a game or join a game at different places than your friend is at. There is even an option to host a LAN game for those who are close by.
