Are there Microtransactions in Warcraft Rumble?

Is the minishop more than an in-game shop?

Warcraft Rumble is a free-to-play mobile game from Blizzard Entertainment. Many free-to-play games feature a controversial loot box mechanic and microtransactions. The rumors of loot boxes in Warcraft Rumble were baseless, but there will be a mechanic involving real-world money and the shop in Warcraft Rumble.

Does Warcraft Rumble have loot boxes or microtransactions?

There will be no loot boxes in Warcraft Rumble, but there will be microtransactions. You can buy minis and leaders from the in-game mini shop using gold, and you can purchase in-game gold with real-world money. You can still get in-game gold by playing the game, so real-world money is not essential to win.

Every week, players are limited to how much gold they can buy. You cannot use gold to purchase items outside of the minishop. Although we don't know what the currency will be, it appears you can only use real-world money to buy gold and not any other form of in-game currency.

The game seems to be giving paying players a bit more, but not so much that it is considered pay-to-win.
