Since 2019, Warframe players have been waiting for the release of the Duviri Paradox, an expansion that would add an entirely new open-world zone among many other new additions. As recently as Warframe's last dev stream, there have been updates teasing new information on this expansion, but as of yet there had been no official announcement on the game's release. However, that has all changed, and more information has come to light in the latest Warframe dev stream that reveals the release month of the Duviri Paradox, among other important information.
When will the Duviri Paradox arrive in Warframe?
Though no exact release date has been announced for the expansion, the devs revealed the Duviri Paradox is slated to release in April 2023, just a month away. This is massive news for Warframe players, who have been waiting since 2019 for the release of this new expansion. Based on all the information the devs gave throughout the stream, this looks to be a promising expansion that will change both Warframe's beginning and end game content.
One major thing coming with this expansion is the ability to start a fresh character either at the beginning of Warframe as usual, or to start the game at the beginning of the Duviri Paradox. This is due to the expansion being based around time travel, loops, and, well, paradoxes, so the devs have made it clear that starting in the expansion will not mess with the overall story. This will allow players to really spice up the leveling experience and will also allow new players to jump right into brand new content.
The gameplay of the Duviri open world looks as though it is going to be similar to a roguelike experience. Players start within a cave where they can choose from a series of Decrees before heading out into the open world. These Decrees are passive abilities that stay with your character throughout an open world run, but will reset once you leave the open world. You can also choose a Warframe before heading out as well.
Speaking of Warframes, the devs teased that the Stalker may be added as a playable Warframe. The stream showcased some Duviri Paradox gameplay, and immediately players noticed that the Stalker was among the Warframes within the starting cave. Considering that the four other Warframes were all playable ones, the implication is that Stalker will become a playable Warframe. However, this has not been 100% confirmed as of yet.
On the subject of Primes, Hildryn Prime was shown in all its golden glory, confirming it is the next Prime Warframe coming. Along with it, the Larkspur, Balefire Charger, Surator syndana, and Shade sentinel are all getting Prime skins as well. These items look absolutely fantastic with their new golden pieces, so if you're looking to bling out your Hildryn Warframe, you're going to want to keep an eye out for them.
Lastly, the devs made the huge announcement at the end of the stream that Tennocon 2023 will be in-person in London, Ontario, Canada on August 26, 2023. After previous years where TennoCon was fully virtual due to COVID-19, the Warframe convention is finally returning to an in-person location, but for those who cannot make it, the event will still be streamed as well.
