When you first land on Rykad Minoris in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, you'll quickly realize you can't leave due to a giant ancient anit-air cannon. Destroying the Cannon is a high priority, so you can leave Rykard Minoris and visit your Voidship.
How to destroy the Ancient Cannon in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader (Starport quest)
To destroy the Ancient Anti-Air Cannon during the Starport quest, you must first fight to the Upperway area. Before heading to either Rykard Minoris or the Upperway, we recommend grabbing at least one Metla Charge. You need one Melta charge to destroy the Ancient Anti-Air Cannon and can get at least two before reaching Rykard Minoris during the attack on the Voidship.

If you do not have any Melta Charges, we recommend reloading a save and visiting the Thunderthang Voidship first. You can find the Thunderthang Voidship south of Ryjard Minoris and trade cargo to earn a profit rating. To buy the Melta charges, you need a profit rating of at least eight. You can get a profit rating of at least eight by trading any cargo you got during the attack on the Voidship. Once you have the Melta charges, you are safe to land on Rykard Minoris and make your way to the Upperway.
You can get to the Upperway by fighting through the first Starport area and accessing the streets of the capital area exit. Accessing the streets of the capital leads you to the Upperway area. When you reach the Upperway, you must fight through hordes of rebels to the upper left of the map.
Near the Western Side area exit, you can find the Ancient Anti-Air Cannon guarded by two rebels. You have three options for dealing with the Rebels: attack, trick, or coerce them. The first option is the easiest to do, but you will miss out on some skill-related XP.
Tricking the rebels is a decent option if you wish to avoid combat. However, there is no real benefit to avoiding combat by persuading them to leave. I recommend choosing the [Coercion 40] option by passing a Coercion skill check.

You should be able to easily pass the skill check if you have high Coercion or Abelard in your party. Passing the Coercion skill check makes the two rebels surrender, giving you two more options for dealing with them. You can let the Rebels go or execute them so you can loot their items without getting into combat.
After you deal with the rebels, you can destroy the Ancient Anti-Air Cannon by pressing the green interact button above it. Pressing the button presents two more dialogue options: Examine or Destroy the anti-aircraft battery. Before choosing the Destroy option, I recommend making a quick save in case you fail. After making a save, select the examine option for extra XP. To select the Examine option, you must pass a [Tech-Use 50] skill check.
You can also easily pass the Tech skill check if you have Pasqal in your party. If you do not have Pasqal in your party, I recommend respecing if you do not have anyone else with high Tech-Use. With Pasqal, you can pass the skill check at a chance of 132 percent.
Passing the Tech-Use skill check rewards your party with over 28 XP. After passing the Tech-Use skill check, choose the Destroy option next. To select the Destroy the anti-aircraft battery, you must pass a [Demolition 40] skill check. You can easily pass this if you have Albelard or equally high Demolition. With Albelard, you pass with an 85 percent chance. You must also have at least one Melta Charge to destroy the Cannon. Luckily, Melta Charges are not hard to find, and you should have at least two in your inventory after the attack on the Void Ship.
