Best Units in Warhammer 40k Tacticus
S-Tier
- Yarrick - Legendary Commissar can be unlocked for a few bucks, but he's worth it. His specialty are summons, and his summoned units attack simultaneously. His only flaw is a bit less base health. Yarrick's summoning skill keeps making him useful all the way through the end game.
- Roswitha - Roswitha is a great unit for dealing with bosses due to her great damage output. She also has a lot of health and does bonus damage against demons. Her flaw is that she's hard to level up. Roswitha is a supreme damage-dealing unit, especially against demons.
A-Tier
- Bellator - Bellator is an Ultramarine that can be picked at the beginning of the game. His specialty is summoning clone units in a great number, and he also has good armor. If you don't want to buy Yarrick, Bellator is a decent alternative.
- Ahriman - Ahriman's main ability is dealing triple physical damage to all enemies within two hex distances. He's a great combination with someone using fire damage. He's focused on physical attacks only, so he lacks the versatility to be placed higher.
B-Tier
- Burchard - This aggressive unit is a pure attacker. He's excellent at close combat, raining fire down on enemy units and smithing them with his powered fists. Like Ahriman, Burchard is too focused on one form of attack to be higher in this list.
- Certus - Certus is a Marksman, a support unit that snipes enemies from a distance. This silent assassin moves without a trace and seeks targets. He's very useful from afar, but when faced in closed combat, he's all but useless.
C-Tier
- Incisus - Incisus is a support unit, namely Apothecary. These units' job is to provide for the well-being of other units—something like an extreme version of medics. Even the best medic units like Incisus is aren't much in direct combat.
- Rotbone - Nauseous Rotbone is an undead version of Apothecary. He holds the keys of surgeon dungeons and takes care of tainted gene seeds. Rotbone is basically zombie support, which is even less useful than a pure medic unit such as Incisus.
