Most Useful Leatherworking Specialization in WoW Dragonflight

Truthfully, the most useful Leatherworking spec depends on what exactly you want out of it. If you're just looking for efficiency, then the Leatherworking Discipline spec is the right one. However, in terms of overall value, it would certainly be the Leatherworking Armor or Mail Armor Crafting specialization. This is because both of these specializations allow you to craft high level armor in every armor slot, with the sole caveat being that you need to further invest profession points in each armor slot to actually do this.

However, in doing so, you can do much with the spec. Should you decide to specialize in crafting leather/mail chest pieces, you get the ability to infuse them with power, which increases item level, add embellishments, which are like adding additional procs/buffs, and even customize the secondary stats, which is a huge deal depending on which class you're playing. On top of all this, you can also sell your services as a Leatherworker specializing in crafting chest pieces to other players. It requires many profession points to specialize in specific pieces, but the reward is worth the labor.

The Leatherworking Discipline Specialization

As mentioned, you can focus your efforts on the Leatherworking Discipline spec for the most efficient gains. This spec is a great supporting secondary for any other Leatherworking lines. It focuses on improving your Skill, saving materials during crafts, and improving Inspiration odds, making it easier to reach high level crafts. We recommend investing a bit into this spec once you've fully invested in crafting one or two different slots of armor. It is by Dragonflight's design that you cannot craft the best in every slot, so instead, focus on a few and master them, then make the crafts cheaper by investing in this spec. You'll thank us for this advice in the long run.
