Wuthering Waves character flying to a castle

Custom lock-on and 120FPS are coming to Wuthering Waves 1.2

The developers have listened!

Wuthering Waves Version 1.2 "In the Turquoise Moonglow" is arriving soon and developers have shared a blog post detailing all the changes and improvements coming with the update. This includes the long-awaited custom lock-on priority setting and 120 FPS support.

The developers have talked in detail about the optimization preview the v1.2 update brings and the main highlight is the new custom lock-on feature. In the Control tab of the in-game Settings, players will notice the Lock-on Priority option with the following choices: Movement Direction, Camera Direction, and Distance (see image above). Using this setting, you'll be able to set the auto lock-on priorities based on your preference.

120 FPS only for some GPUs?

The next big improvement will be the addition of the 120 FPS option on select PC devices and the community reaction is positive; one popular Reddit user comment in response to this and the custom lock-on feature commends the developers for listening. They later added that 120 FPS is probably only for DLSS-supported GPUs; however, another user said it doesn't have anything to do with DLSS but with the refresh rate of the player's monitor. We'll just have to wait for more details to drop for confirmation on this topic.

Waveplate improvements ahoy

As part of the new store excess Waveplate feature, you will receive Waveplate Crystals after reaching the Waveplate cap (one Waveplate Crystal every 12 minutes until the 480 Waveplate Crystal threshold is hit). These Crystals can be exchanged for Waveplates of equivalent value.

Wuthering Waves v1.2 is also introducing the Hoverdroid: Shooter Utility that can be equipped in the Utility Wheel and used by tapping or holding the Basic Attack button. The new Resonator Showcase feature will allow you to view the convene scenes of up to three unlocked Resonators. These are some welcome improvements ahead of the major version 1.3 update coming later.

There will also be new exchange items in the Illusive Store as a sign of appreciation for the support the community has shown to "Depths of Illusive Realm." Moreover, the "Spend 180 Waveplates" daily quest will now have 60 Activity Points (earlier 20) as a reward to help you complete your daily quests faster. Finally, the 5-Star Resonator Xiangli Yao (see image above) will be given for free to everyone who joins the game during the second half of the Wuthering Waves version 1.2 update.
