Why can’t I join a game in XDefiant?

So, XDefiant's servers have just gone live to kickstart its pre-season, and yet nobody seems to be able to actually play a game. Many of us on PGG are currently facing a number of different errors. Some are seeing that there are no players online, while others are in a queue waiting to be placed into a game.

There's a really simple answer here, but if you loaded up the game before the servers had actually gone live, you'll need to close and restart the game. Make sure you're closing the application entirely on PlayStation and Xbox, as you'll need to reestablish a connection with Ubisoft's servers to be put into populated lobbies and begin playing the shooter.

If this still doesn't work, the best bet is to give it another five minutes or so and trying again. There's a good chance that the servers are just being overwhelmed with traffic and you'll need to wait your turn to be put into a game. Some of us on the PGG team have finally been placed into a game, but we're also seeing reports from other players on our sister sites that are being faced with the same issue.

Some players are still reporting seeing barely any players populating servers. If the servers don't think any players are online, well, that would explain why you can't find a match. In this Reddit thread, players are also noting that they were able to get into a game within minutes of it going live and then haven't been able to find a game since. This suggests that there might actually be an issue on the server side, and we're just going to have to wait it out until Ubisoft has addressed the issue or the surge in traffic has settled.
