Best Temple Order in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Those temples aren't going to clear themselves.

After leaping off Great Sky Island and falling to the ground, I was overwhelmed with the freedom I was given after the tutorial area. But what I was most undecided about was which Natural Phenomenon Temple to go first in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As it turns out, I had more freedom in tackling this quest than I thought, but there is what I'd call "the best order," which I've listed below.

What Order Should I complete the Temples in in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Ultimately, you can complete the four ground temples in Tears of the Kingdom in whatever order you want. but there is a better order to complete the temples in based on following the story, location, and the abilities each provides. Here is the order we recommend tackling the temples in in Zelda: TotK.

Best Natural Phenomenon Temple Order in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

We recommend completing the temples in Tears of the Kingdom in this order. Herba makes the most sense to do first, as the story naturally pulls you there, especially after completing the bridge at Rito Village. You also gain what I'd consider the most helpful ability by completing this temple.

  • Hebra - Wind Temple
    • Wind ability for your Paraglider.
  • Eldin - Fire Temple
    • Fire ability that breaks rocks.
  • Gerudo - Lightning Temple
    • Bow ability that creates lightning.
  • Lanaryu - Water Temple
    • Shield ability that creates water.

Can you do the Temples in any order in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

You can do the four temples on the ground in any order. Following the main story naturally leads you to Hebra and the Wind Temple, but these can be done however you wish. Players have reported additional temples in the sky, but you must first complete the four temples on the overworld before you can do these.
