The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is full of small side quests that involve beating back hordes of monsters. I find some of these quests exhausting, but Homegrown in Hateno is, fortunately, the easiest of them. This side quest is full of Stal monsters, so Link can two shot most of the enemies quickly.
How to beat Homegrown in Hateno in TotK - Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
To start this quest in Tears of the Kingdom, talk to Reede at the pumpkin farm in Hateno Village (coordinates: 3296, -2118, 0109). This quest won't open up, though, until the entire Mayoral Election side adventure is finished. That means players are going to have to do every side quest in that quest line for both Cede and Reede.
When talking to Reede, he will tell Link that monsters attack this patch of pumpkins every night. He then gives Link the task of guarding the pumpkins from the monsters. The nice thing about this quest is that once the player accepts it, the game will automatically transition into night—no need to rest at an inn or anything like that.

The entire quest is made out of around five waves of Stal monsters. Since they all go down in two to three hits, there is no need to waste a strong weapon on them. I would recommend using something basic like a Traveler's Claymore, and when it breaks, just pick up the Bokoblin Arms that they drop.
During the fight, Link can't leave the pumpkin patch either. This can be annoying because sometimes heads roll down the hill. If this happens, just use a bow and shoot from the patch.
It's also important not to leave Reede alone because the monsters will eventually ignore Link and go for Reede. This happened when I was fighting the monsters, and sadly Reede didn't use his pitchfork on them; he simply ran away and ended the quest.
After around five waves, the quest will be over, and the farm will be saved. It turns out that Reede was working on Sun Pumpkins, five of which he gives to Link. Sun Pumpkins work just like Sundelions, so these can be nice alternatives to cure Gloom with.
