Is Zelda Tears of the Kingdom coming to PC or Steam?

Who gets to play Zelda?

Nintendo has many iconic game series, but few have the pedigree and fanbase that The Legend of Zelda series does. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom looks to expand the series, bringing a new adventure to the Nintendo Switch starring Link. However, those without a Nintendo console may be wondering The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is coming to PC or Steam.

Can you play The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom on PC?

The answer is no—you cannot play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on PC. At least, not officially. Tears of the Kingdom is a Nintendo exclusive, meaning you can only play it on the Nintendo Switch. However, the same is true of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but fans found ways around the exclusivity and made it playable on PC.

There is no guarantee that fans will find a way to make The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom playable on PC, so it remains to be seen if it will make its way off the Switch. Keep in mind that if it does come to PC, this will be through third-party means, and you should play it at your own risk. Playing Tears of the Kingdom on Switch is the safest way to enjoy the game.

With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom remaining on Switch, it means you will need the hybrid Nintendo console to play the game officially. It also means that subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation won't feature the game. As Nintendo does not have a similar service, you will also need to buy it.
