Zelda TotK – How to find and help Penn at Dueling Peaks Stable in Tears of the Kingdom

Where did Penn go?

While Kass is not in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, another Rito plays a similar role in Penn. Penn can be found throughout Hyrule at the various stables. However, when I found the Dueling Peaks Stable, I could not find my avian friend anywhere. This left me wondering how to find Penn at the Dueling Peaks Stable in Tears of the Kingdom.

The Dueling Peaks Stable can be found on the way to Kakariko Village in West Necluda. The precise location can be found at coordinates 1747, -1922, 0010. However, Penn is nowhere to be seen—that is, unless you know where to look. I spent too much time looking for him, so let me help you find the Rito NPC.

Where to find Penn at the Dueling Peaks Stable in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Penn is standing at the highest point on top of the Dueling Peaks Stable. You cannot speak to him unless you get up there, but reaching his position will take some creativity.

How to reach Penn at the Dueling Peaks Stable (Zelda TotK)

Use the stacked crates at the back of the stable to get on the first-level roof. Then, you must use Ascend to reach the topmost part. Use this ability on the horse's mouth to get to a point where you can reach Penn and not fall off. Speak to Penn to learn of the Yiga Clan's heinous kidnapping of Zelda.

Penn informs you that the Yiga Clan has kidnapped Princess Zelda. The clue, "The Twins," is a reference to the twin peaks overlooking the Dueling Peaks Stable. You'll need to head to the southern peak and can use the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to reach the location marked below quickly.

You'll find a cage with "Zelda" inside the carved path in the southern peak. You can speak to her or lift the cage with Ultrahand and set off the obvious trap. Defeat the three Yiga soldiers that appear, and Penn will arrive shortly after. You'll get a Purple Rupee, a Lucky Gazette Fabric for the Paraglider, and become one step closer to getting the Froggy Armor Set.
