Here's how to make the best use of the Museum in Prospecting!

Recommended Videos

The Museum is one of the new additions to Prospecting, letting you showcase your rare finds while also unlocking powerful bonuses. By placing items into Display Stands, you can gain boosts to Dig Speed, Luck, Capacity, and more. However, not all items are created equal. The rarity, weight, and modifiers on each item influence the bonuses you receive. So, this guide will cover everything you need to know about unlocking the Museum, using modifiers, and the best items for every rarity.

Museum Location And How To Unlock

The Museum can be found in the spawn location, across the Fortune River, on the other side of the riverbank. You can enter it without any restrictions and also unlock its waypoint, which is located outside the building on the right.

It provides multiple Display Stands where you can put items gathered from digging and sifting. To maximize bonuses, you should prioritize heavier items and those with better modifiers. Once placed, the bonuses remain active as long as the item stays on display.

Best Items To Put in the Museum

The best items in the Prospecting Museum can be decided by their rarity, base boost ranges, and modifiers. Below is a breakdown of each rarity, including bonus ranges and best picks.

Best Common Items

Common items are easy to find but provide modest boosts in the range of 0.01x to 0.03x. Their modifiers add a slight edge, with an additional 0.01x boost. While not game-changing, these items are perfect fillers for focusing on a single stat.

ItemBonus
Copper+ Size Boost
Seashell+ Capacity
Pearl+ Shake Speed

Best Uncommon Items

Uncommon items improve bonuses, ranging from 0.02x to 0.05x, with modifiers contributing another 0.01x. They are more efficient than commons and add minor improvements in gameplay, especially when stacked in multiple stands.

ItemBonus
Topaz+ Capacity
Titanium+ Dig Speed
Smoky Quartz+ Shake Strength

Best Rare Items

Rare items bring a solid stat boost, between 0.05x and 0.13x, with modifiers adding up to 0.02x. These are some of the stronger early-game items, giving decent boosts for various stats.

ItemBonus
Lapis+ Dig Speed
Meteoric Iron+ Shake Strength
Onix+ Size Boost
Cobalt+ Dig Speed

Best Epic Items

Epic items grant boosts ranging from 0.08x to 0.16x, with modifiers adding 0.02x. At this tier, Museum bonuses contribute significantly to your gameplay. Epics are highly valuable for mid-game progression and should be prioritized if you've got any good ones.

Iridium+ Dig Speed

Best Legendary Items

Legendary items give boosts between 0.10x and 0.19x, with modifiers contributing up to 0.03x. These items have stronger base stats and better combinations when modifiers are applied. A single Legendary can outperform multiple Epics due to its higher weight scaling.

Starshine+ Size Boost

Best Mythic Items

Mythics are among the versatile items, having 0.18x to 0.64x total boosts depending on weight and modifiers. They cover multiple stats, and having modifiers on these items adds up to 0.05x, making Mythics some of the best Museum picks overall.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I place duplicate items in Museum Displays?

No, you cannot place duplicate items in the Museum. Each Display Stand only accepts unique items, so stacking multiple of the same type for bigger bonuses is not possible.

Do heavier items always give better bonuses in the Museum?

Yes, weight directly affects the stat bonus of an item. Heavier items translate into higher multipliers, making large finds significantly more valuable.

Which stat bonuses should I prioritize in the Museum?

Dig Speed and Dig Strength are ideal for farming items quicker, while Luck boosts improve rare item finds. Capacity is useful for longer runs without selling, and Size Boost helps with larger finds. You should prioritize based on your playstyle.

Are Exotic and Mythic items always better than Legendaries or Epics?

Not always. While Mythic and Exotic items provide higher potential bonuses, some Legendary or Epic items with strong modifiers and higher weight can outperform them in specific stats.
