Coal can be obtained through three primary methods during the Smithing Event. Each method provides coal of varying rarity, so you’ll want to use all of them to maximize your supply.

Contribute Items to the Smithing Event

The main way to earn coal is by contributing one plant, one pet, and one gear at the Smithing altar located in the event area. When you submit these three items together, you’ll receive a coal of random rarity.

This method reduces the crafting timer for the whole server, progresses the Smithing Event for global bonuses, and helps trigger special weather effects. The rarity of coal you get is random, but higher-value contributions give better coal.

    Use the Smithing Dog

The Smithing Dog is a special event pet you can craft at the Pet Crafting Station in the event area. It has the following crafting requirements:

      PetCrafting Recipe
      Smithing Dog1x Dog
      2x Rare Coals
      3,000,000 Sheckles

Once placed on your farm, the Smithing Dog has a passive ability. It digs up 1 coal every 12 minutes. While it is mostly Common Coal, rare types can appear. This method gives you a steady stream of coal even when you’re AFK.

      Treasure Digging

Treasure Digging works exactly like the previous Gravedigging event. You can access it through the Shop, then select the Treasure Digging menu. You will see a 5x5 grid of tiles. Dig any tile to reveal hidden rewards, including:

        • Coins
        • Items
        • Coal (low chance)
