Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle is an Idle RPG based on the original Fairy Tail anime. You get to go on an adventure in the magical world with all the iconic Fairy Tail characters by your side. If you’re struggling to find the strongest characters to put on your team, this Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle tier list will help. Also, if you’re stuck with low-tier characters, you’ll find a reroll guide at the end. Let’s start with a quick tier list.
Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle Tier List
Every character from the Fairy Tail anime features in Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle. The ones you can't find right now will be added with future content updates. In total, there are over 80 characters in the game that you can use. Ranking all of them is simply not worth it.
So, we've reserved this Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle tier list for the UR characters only (the highest rarity in the game). If you can't figure out who the best UR character is in the game, or want to reroll for different ones, this tier list will definitely help.
| Tier | Characters |
|---|---|
| S | Gray [Devil Slayer], Natsu [Dragon Force], Wendy Marvell, Erza [Heavenly Wheel Armor] |
| A | Makarov, Irene Belserion |
| B | Gray Fullbuster, Laxus Dreyar |
| C | Hades, Elfman |
| D | Sting Eucliffe |
Note: This tier list is a work in progress. After unlocking and testing more characters, we’ll update this tier list accordingly. Make sure to check back later if you don’t find the characters you’re looking for.
S Tier - Best Characters in Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle
| Character | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Natsu [Dragon Force] Ranged | + One of the highest normal attack damage stats. + Normal attack can inflict Burn that deals tick damage for 3 seconds. + Special attack deals extra damage to Burn-inflicted enemies. + Ultimate Skill does AoE damage and inflicts burn on multiple enemies for up to 10 seconds. |
![]() Wendy Marvell Heal | + Currently, the best Heal and Support unit in the game. + Every time a normal attack lands successfully, she heals one ally with the lowest HP. + Special attack (Divine Knight) buffs ally ATK and CRIT for up to 7 seconds. + Ultimate skill meter charges up quickly, allowing you to heal all allies every 10 seconds. |
![]() Gray [Ice Demon Slayer] Melee | + Gray’s second form performs much better in all game modes. + Every normal attack has a chance of freezing the enemy. + Deals massive damage to frozen enemies. + Ultimate skill can freeze enemies for up to 10 seconds. + Boss fights become much easier with this character on your team. |
![]() Erza [Heavenly Wheel Armor] Defense | + Best Tank x DPS hybrid. + Normal attack is fast and ends up doing some serious DPS. + Special attacks can one-shot bosses if they land a Crit Hit. + Ultimate Skill deals massive damage and buffs Erza’s Crit Chances. |
A Tier
| Character | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Makarov Dreyar Defense | + One of the best Defense characters in the game. + Provides Defense Boost and Crit Res Boost to Skill-type allies, increasing your team’s survivability. + Superb Ultimate Skill that transforms him into a giant and grants invincibility and attracts all incoming attacks. |
![]() Irene Belserion Ranged | + A mix of ranged DPS and Support abilities makes her a versatile character who works in every gamemode. + Buffs ally ATK and CRIT Rate with critical hits. + Reduces enemy Crit Def and can also inflict Burn for 5 seconds. - Not strong enough to carry the team like the characters in the S tier. |
B Tier
| Character | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Gray Fullbuster Ranged | + Decent damage output for a backrow unit. + Can freeze enemy units, making them unable to act. + Upon a critical hit, can break down the enemy's defense. - Attacks are too slow. Performance drops considerably in mid and late game content. |
![]() Laxus Dreyar Melee | + Good in Crit-based teams. Gets a damage boost with successful critical hits. + Can apply Paralyze targets for up to 7 seconds. - Special Attack and Ultimate Skill are RNG-reliant, and the RNG gods rarely favor Laxus. |
C Tier
| Character | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Hades Ranged | + The Ultimate Skill (Amatersau 100th Style) does decent AoE damage. - Normal and Special attacks are very disappointing. - Offers no support to the team. - Leveling and Awakening don’t make much of a difference. |
![]() Elfman Defense | + Does decent damage with every attack. - Tank abilities only kick in against critical hits. - Only boosts self-defense. Offers nothing to allies. |
D Tier
| Character | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
![]() Sting Eucliffe Ranged | + AoE attack every 9 seconds makes him a decent unit for the early game. - Normal attack fails to land quite often. - Special attack does very low damage but can buff the Crit Rate of Sting. - Struggles against bosses. |
How to reroll in Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle
If you’re not happy with the characters you’ve got, there is a way to get rid of them all and reroll for better characters. However, keep in mind that you will lose all your progress too. Here’s how to reroll in Fairy Tail Wizard Chronicle:

- On the starting screen, click on the menu icon in the bottom right corner. It’s right next to the X/Twitter icon.

You can repeat these steps as many times as you want, provided you're willing to play through a 3 to 5-minute-long tutorial multiple times.
