What are The Cure's Abilities in Violence District?

The Cure killer in the Violence District offers access to several abilities. You get access to the first two right from the get-go, and they are the Elucidation and I Am the Cure abilities. The other three are unlocked at levels 15, 30, and 45. They are the Foundation Staff, Sustenance, and Desire For The Living. Below you can find a detailed explanation of what each of them does:

  • Elucidation: The Cure can throw a flask with a slight delay because the throw has to be charged. A cloud of Pestilence is created at the spot where it lands; survivors caught inside of it get slowed down by 30% and have the Pestilence status effect applied to them. For each Survivor infected with Pestilence, you gain a 5% break and vault speed boost. All stacks of infection get removed after 90 seconds, and the ability itself has a 15-second cooldown.
  • I Am The Cure: Allows The Cure to inject downed Survivors and Corpses that spawn across the map. The Survivors can only be injected once per spike stage. If injected before their first spike, they suffer a 4% decrease in movement speed. After the first spike, they suffer a 6% repair speed reduction and get transformed into SCP-049-2 if injected after two spikes. This SCP moves at 9 studs per second, increasing up to 15 when chasing a Survivor inflicted with Pestilence. They wander the map and hunt Survivors, prioritizing those already being chased by The Cure if they are within 100 studs. Their attacks apply Pestilence or deal damage to the target if it is already infected. There can be up to 4 SCPs at the same time. However, this limit can be surpassed if Survivors are turned into SCPs. The SCPs' auras are always revealed to The Cure. Another way to bring the SCPs into play is via the corpses that spawn randomly across the map. When a Survivor is spiked, you gain a charge to inject a corpse and turn it into SCP-049-2. Every subsequent charge requires two Survivors to be spiked.
  • Foundation Staff: When a Survivor removes themselves or another Survivor from the spike, they suffer a 20/30/40% healing speed reduction, depending on how many times they got spiked. The Survivor who gets unspiked is afflicted with a 15% repair speed reduction debuff until they are healed.
  • Sustenance: When a Survivor is spiked, the Cure gains 1 token. When you break a pallet, the token is consumed to apply a 10% Movement speed reduction to all Survivors within your Terror Radius for 4/5/6 seconds. Any affected Survivors additionally suffer from the Silenced status effect for 25/30/35 seconds, making them unable to use any perks.
  • Desire For The Living: When a Survivor sees your aura, you also see theirs. Whenever you gain a speed boost, your aura is revealed to the nearest Survivor for 3 seconds. This perk has a 40/30/20 second cooldown.

How to play The Cure in the Violence District

The Cure play strategies

Firstly, it should be noted that The Cure can freely break pallets due to the effects of the Elucidation ability and the Sustenance perk. This contradicts the usual dogma of not breaking pallets when playing other Killers, so you should look to implement this playstyle as soon as you can.

Secondly, always make sure to spend your Infection Charges, as spawning a large amount of SCPs can be downright oppressive, as they apply the Pestilence debuff and deal damage on top of that.

Finally, keep tossing those Elucidation flasks as much as you can, as on top of weakening the Survivors via the Pestilence debuff, you also make yourself more powerful as you gain a 5% break and vault speed boost for each infected survivor. This playstyle, in particular, synergizes amazingly well with the first point we mentioned, so that is an additional reason to get used to it quickly.
