Animal Hospital has encountered a new anomaly: the Ghost. Dealing with it can be quite tricky, especially if you are a new player who is playing alone. Since the game does practically nothing in the way of explaining to you how to kill or incapacitate it, we have decided to create this guide detailing exactly how to get rid of it, so make sure to keep reading if you want to learn all of the information about that and more.
What does the Ghost Anomaly do in Animal Hospital?
The Ghost is a powerful Anomaly that can appear at random in Animal Hospital. It manifests itself as a shadowy white figure with large black eyes. Coming into direct physical contact with it will make the player lose 2 sanity per tick, and it will appear and disappear periodically. It will always make audio cues when it does so, so make sure to be on the lookout for those distinct ghastly sounds. However, just because it disappeared does not mean it is gone entirely; rather, it has only become invisible. Even when invisible, it will still look to chase and attack the player.
The ghost can also open and close all of the interactable doors on its own, so you can use that as a telltale sign that it is nearby. In fact, when that happens, it is best to avoid the area where it interacted with doors entirely, since when he does so, he will likely be invisible and you will not be able to do anything to it except take sanity damage. While he mostly wanders around the hospital building, he will start floating towards you if you get too close to him regardless of whether or not it is invisible, so it is best to avoid it if you do not have the means to incapacitate or kill it.
How to Kill the Ghost in Animal Hospital?
There are two main ways of getting rid of the Ghost Anomaly inside Animal Hospital. Both of them involve sneaking up behind the ghost while it's visible and using one of the two items. The first item you can use is the Taser, which naturally appears in the check-in room on Shift 3. The second item that will also do the trick is the gun, which is constantly lying on the floor in the same room but has to be purchased with Robux to be used.
An important thing to always keep in mind is that you absolutely have to sneak up to the ghost's back when trying to kill it; otherwise, your attack will have no effect, and the ghost will immediately turn invisible. However, there is a silver lining: you will not lose your item if you fail to dispose of it.
Dealing with the ghost is not that tricky when it is all on its own, but can be rather overwhelming, especially if he appears during emergencies or if you are the sole player in the game lobby. To that end, we strongly encourage joining up with other players or friends to get the hang of exactly what you can expect from the ghost, since firsthand experience is always helpful.
While the absolute best way to get rid of the Ghost is by shooting it with a gun, this option will only be available to paying players. However, you can deal with it just as easily by using the taser. However, you must be careful when using it, since you only get one shot. Use it only when absolutely necessary. Alternatively, you can try getting your hands on the Security class, which will provide you with up to 6 taser uses when you level it up, as well as with an ability to regenerate one use after a shift has ended.
How to Incapacitate and Weaken the Ghost?
Since outright killing the Ghost anomaly in Animal Hospital can be somewhat difficult depending on whether or not you have the right tools for the job, you can also try incapacitating it. There are two main ways of doing this. The first is to spray it with a fire extinguisher; the second is to force it to come into contact with fire, which will make it fall unconscious, giving you ample time to either do something else or run away completely.
The fire extinguisher is located on the wall to the right side of the entrance to the Shop. Picking it up and spraying it at the Ghost will keep it visible, so you can either kill it whenever you see fit or just avoid it altogether. While this method of dealing with it is not ideal, it makes the ghost much less threatening. However, this method will be available to all players, so no one can really complain.
The second method of incapacitating the Ghost is to have it come into contact with fire. This can happen in one of two ways: it can either wander into the fire on its own, which is very rare, or you can intentionally have it follow you and lead it to the place where a fire is raging. In doing so, you will likely take sanity damage as well, but it is well worth it since the ghost will fall unconscious, virtually making it a non-issue.
