Lethal Ape is a survival horror game, so you need to learn the layout of the Lab since there is no map available. Collect Gold, Copper, and Diamonds, and dump them in the Scrapper to get the in-game currency: Gold.
If you're a fan of games where you're constantly chased around by various creatures, then you should give Lethal Ape a try. The game doesn't have a specific end goal, but it's still super fun to sneak around corners and mad dash around never-ending hallways to avoid being caught by a monster. To learn more about the mechanics and what to expect, keep on reading our Lethal Ape beginner's guide!
The Lab in Lethal Ape always has the same layout, so as long as you keep playing, you'll get the hang of the place in no time. Unfortunately, there is no map, but the corridors never change, so if you've seen it once, you've seen it all. One helpful tip for navigating the lab is to collect enough in-game currency to buy a Radar for 35 Gold. This piece of equipment is great for spotting monsters, so you'll always know where to hide next and where you can go to explore.
How to Farm Golds and Scrap in Lethal Ape

"Golds" is the name of the in-game currency in Lethal Ape, and you can obtain it by collecting different material types: Gold, Copper, and Diamond. They are hidden all around the Lab, and they respawn at the same spot regardless of how many times you collect them. This is good news because once you learn the layout of all the rooms, you'll know exactly where to sneak for each stone.
Make sure to jump on shelves and inspect corners, as these are among the most common spots. Corners in hallways and rooms is another common respawn spot so make sure to check each room thoroughly. Another thing to keep in mind is that the more you progress in the game and climb floors, the more valuable some of the Golds are. This is why some players recommend just speedrunning a few floors so you earn faster from collecting.
When you collect a good amount of items, go to the scrapper and dump everything from your inventory. The machine will transform your Gold, Copper and Diamonds into "Golds". If you miss this step and you get caught by an Ape, your balance will be 0 which means you cannot purchase anything.
How to Spend Golds in Lethal Ape

The only way to spend Golds in Lethal Ape is by finding the purchasing station. As the layout is endless, the best way to find it is by locating one of the monsters - Dus. Just before you enter this creature's domain, you'll see a screen on the right wall, and this is where you can spend your earnings.
We recommend that your earliest purchases are the Anti Entity Cube (the green one) and the Anti Entity Cube (the red one), because you can use them to body block the monsters, thus preventing them from catching you. The big purchase, and probably the most useful one, is the Radar which will allow you to spot monsters before ever running into them, saving you from jump-scares and certain death.
You can also buy Grenades and Molotovs, but a heads-up is in order because the mechanics are a bit wonky and throwing them wastes time rather than helping you escape the monsters. So, use them with caution, kids!
How to Get Better in Lethal Ape
To become a true pro in the game, the most important thing to do is learn the layout and how each monster moves. Once you know what to expect, you can take corners to slow them down and learn where the tight squeeze cones are so the creatures get stuck and can't get you. You can also find fellow players who are willing to help distract the enemies while you run around and collect all the materials for Golds.
The grind can be slow at first and it can get frustrating if you get caught before you can make it back to the Scrapper, but once you start unlocking items you will see quicker progress. Just follow our tips above on which items to buy first, and be prepared to explore the ape infested backrooms in Lethal Ape!
