Animal Hospital's Laboratory on the second floor lets you combine four DNA ingredients (A = Pink Jelly, C = Ginger, G = Milk, T = Purple Mushroom) to create experimental serums. Pink serums are thrown at patients, visitors, and NPCs. Green serums are drunk by the player. The best recipes are TTT (patient turns into a mimic and attacks), GTG (player turns into a ghost), and CAC (player transforms into a clown). Below we've provided all the confirm recipes for serums.
The Laboratory is the new addition in Animal Hospital's Second Floor update, unlocked after your first ambulance visit. It adds a full DNA experiment system where you can extract samples from patients, sequence them, mix in ingredients at the lab tables, and get either pink or green serum depending on what you create. Knowing which ingredient produces what is a must, so to help you do that, this guide covers every confirmed recipe and every known unstable combination in Animal Hospital.
How Do You Use the DNA Sampler in Animal Hospital?

If you go to the second floor of Animal Hospital, you will find the Laboratory there. In there, you can use the DNA Sampler by follow these steps below:
Step 1: Extract DNA from a Patient
Pick up the DNA Sampler tool and use it on a patient lying in one of the hospital beds. This extracts a DNA sample from that patient. Samples from healthy patients are pink, while samples from anomaly patients are green. These two colors affect which feed combinations will work on the dish, so keep track of which patient you sampled.
Step 2: Go to the Second Floor Lab
Bring the DNA sample up to the Laboratory on the second floor and insert it into the Sequencer. Play through the Sample Minigame to get the sample into the dish correctly.
Step 3: Mix Ingredients at a Lab Table
Bring the dish to one of the lab tables and add ingredients from the four available items in your chosen sequence. The four ingredients map to the four DNA letters:
| DNA Letter | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| A | Pink Jelly |
| C | Ginger |
| G | Milk |
| T | Purple Mushroom |
NOTE: If you enter a working combination, a 30-second timer starts. If the combination is unstable, it fails and does not produce a vial.
Step 4: Press the Vial
Once the timer completes, bring the dish to the Vial Press. It finishes the sample automatically and produces a Glass Vial. The vial color tells you what kind of serum it is and it changes depending on the ingredients used.
Step 5: Use the Serum
You can throw Pink serums patients, visitors, and NPCs to apply effects to them. Whereas, you can drink Green serums to apply effects to yourself.
What Are All the DNA Combination Recipes in Animal Hospital?

Knowing what ingredient produces what in the DNA Sampler is by far the most challenging aspect of this system. So, to help you remove this confusion, below we have provided all the confirmed DNA Combination recipes in Animal Hospital.
Pink Serum Recipes
| Combination | Effect |
|---|---|
| TTT | Patient transforms into a Mimic and begins attacking |
| AAA | Shrinks the patient |
| CCC | Patient produces slime rapidly |
| GGG | Transforms the patient into a Fish |
| TAG | Makes the patient invisible |
| GAT | Sets the patient on fire |
| AGA | Changes the patient's eyes. Looking at them causes the player to lose sanity |
| TTC | Makes the patient slower |
| GAC | Patient constantly changes fur color |
| CAG | Makes the patient slightly faster |
| TCT | Starts a fire |
| ATT | Starts a fire |
| ACA | Gives the patient or NPC hair |
| CTT | Makes the patient very fast |
| GCG | Patient starts to glow |
Green Serum Recipes
| Combination | Effect |
|---|---|
| CGT | Player starts dancing |
| ATA | Player shrinks |
| ACG | Displays the message "You drank a strange serum" |
| GTG | Player turns into a ghost |
| CAC | Player transforms into a clown |
| TGC | Gives the player -5 detection radius |
What Are All the Unstable DNA Combinations in Animal Hospital?

The following combinations have been tested and confirmed to fail. They do not produce a usable vial:
| Combination | Result |
|---|---|
| ATA | Unstable |
| CAC | Unstable |
| CTC | Unstable |
| GAG | Unstable |
| GTG | Unstable |
| TAT | Unstable |
| TCT | Unstable |
| TGT | Unstable |
NOTE: There are 64 possible three-letter combinations using A, C, G, and T. Only a portion of these have been confirmed so far. We will update the above with new recipes as we confirm them.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes. Pink samples come from healthy patients and green samples come from anomaly patients. These two sample colors affect which ingredient combinations will successfully produce a vial. Always note which type of patient you sampled before mixing ingredients.
TTT is the most dramatic effect. It transforms the patient into a Mimic that actively attacks, which creates chaos during a shift and has significant gameplay consequences.
GTG (ghost transformation) and CAC (clown transformation) give the most transformative effects on the player. TGC is also useful because of the -5 detection radius reduction makes it easier to move around the hospital without triggering certain events or reactions.
The Laboratory and the entire second floor unlock after your first ambulance visit during a shift. If you are playing in skip tutorial mode, the second floor is accessible from the start. Once unlocked, the DNA Sampler tool and all four ingredient items become available.
