Is there multiplayer in I am Fish

We are fish?

I am Fish is the sequel to I am Bread, though not directly related. Bossa Studios have created another wacky and highly entertaining game, one where you play as a group of fish trying to reconnect in the ocean. This type of game is always better with friends, so you may be wondering if it has any multiplayer features.

The answer to this question is no. There is no multiplayer in I am Fish as of now. The developers have stated that I am Fish is intended to be a single-player experience and they are working to make it the best it can be. Yet, in the I am Fish Discord channel, user OllieGamerTv states there are no plans for multiplayer right now.

If this is true, it means multiplayer could be added to the game later. What determines this is unknown but it can be assumed that I am Fish's sales would highly contribute to it. I am Fish would be perfect for multiplayer as the four fish protagonists could each be controlled by a separate player.

Looking at their past games, I am Bread and Surgeon Simulator, and it is clear that they work well with multiplayer. Surgeon Simulator received its multiplayer later in its life span so it is still possible that I am Fish will have multiplayer. But until that time comes, you will have to swim the seas alone.
