How to enter and use a vent in Hidden Deep

Get in the vent like a good imposter.

Vents in Hidden Deep can be intimidating at first, but you can master them. Normally, vents are located between walls, so they need to be reached by scaling.

Grab a grappling hook from the ceiling and climb up to the vent. Once you have reached the vent, swing your soldier back and forth with A and D. Just before your soldier reaches the vent, press Spacebar and immediately hold W and D to grab the ledge.

Your soldier will then crawl into the vent, and you will be done.

Although it is possible to let go of the rope right when your soldier hits the wall, we don't recommend it. If you hit the wall, your soldier will bounce a bit and may be pushed too far away from the vent to grab it, leading to an unnecessary death.

You want to release just before the soldier hits something, so it's important to time it right. It's a little tricky at first, but it's not so bad once you get the hang of it.
