To do laundry in The Sims 4, you will need to own more than just the base game. You'll need to purchase the Laundry Day Stuff pack (which costs $10) to clean your clothes. Sadly, there are no mods or ways around doing laundry without owning this pack.

Using a Washing Bucket or Washer/Dryer in The Sims 4

You have two options for doing your sims' laundry in The Sims 4. You can either use a classic washer and dryer combo or go old school by using a washing bucket and clothesline. Obviously, the second option takes longer. But it does use less energy in your home if you are green friendly. Also, make sure to have hampers in the home, or your sims will throw clothing everywhere.

Collect your sims' laundry from the hamper, take them to your washing method, and interact to begin washing. After that, either take the clothing to the dryer or clothesline to dry. The final step is to fold and put away the laundry. To check on the status (for example, you can't take wet clothes off of the clothesline) of clothes, hover over them with your mouse.
