How to get Butter Meep Jerky in Octopath Traveler 2

Any player following Ochette's route in Octopath Traveler 2 knows she's a fan of Jerky. As it turns out, Butter Meep Jerky is a necessary item for her to unlock the battle with Terra. When she reaches Crackridge, she meets Pom who will take her to Terra, but not before she hands him some Butter Meep Jerky. Here is where to find some.

Butter Meep Jerky Location in Octopath Traveler 2

Instead of finding it on the Octopath Traveler 2 overworld, Ochette instead needs to battle a Butter Meep to get the Butter Meep Jerky. Fortunately, Butter Meeps can easily be found in the Western Crackridge Wilds, which is conveniently west of Crackridge itself.

To acquire the Butter Meep Jerky, Ochette needs to battle and capture a Butter Meep. The game will ask if Ochette wants to keep the monster. Players will want to say no to this, since it will cause Ochette to instead prepare the Butter Meep for its Jerky.

When exploring the Western Crackridge Wilds, it's a good idea to talk to the Merchants on the left hand side. One of them actually holds the Merchant License, and talking to him will allow players to give the Merchant secondary job to any of their party members.

Once players get the Butter Meep Jerky, they can return to Crackridge and hand it to Pom. He then clears a path to a ladder which leads to the lair of Terra. This boss will later become one of Ochette's best beasts to summon, but the boss fight is tough, so be prepared.
