Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3) Necrotic Laboratory Puzzle Solution

This one's a real head-scratcher.

In the depths of the Mind Flayer Colony lies the Necrotic Laboratory. After clearing out the horde of undead enemies that call this place home, I found an unusual puzzle waiting for me. Through trial and error, I was able to piece together the solution. Here's everything you need to know to solve the Necrotic Laboratory Puzzle.

To start the puzzle, head to the southeast corner of the Necrotic Laboratory. You'll have to make a couple of jumps to reach it. Once you do, interact with the console and choose "Begin to manipulate the mind" when prompted. From here, you'll see the puzzle come to life.

There are four components to the puzzle: reason, memory, speech, and emotion, indicated by four glowing shapes in front of you. You need to connect each one to their corresponding shapes on the other side of the puzzle. This is done using nodes, like a game of connect-the-dots. Each node can only be used by one shape, so there's no overlap. If you make a mistake, you can return to the previous node, or interact with the console and start all over.

Reason

Reason is the topmost segment of the puzzle, and is purple in color. This is the easiest to start with, as its counterpart is also at the top. To connect Reason, you'll want to use the nodes on the upper lefthand side, as pictured above.

Memory

Memory is the rightmost component, indicated by the color green. This is where the puzzle gets tricky; unlike Reason, the corresponding shape for Memory is on the opposite side. For this one, you'll need to pick the node on the right first, then move up and to the left. It should look like the image above.

Speech

Speech is the blue shape on the left. Similar to Memory, its counterpart lies at the opposite corner of the puzzle. As such, you'll need to move up and to the right. Be careful not to overlap with other nodes or try to connect to the wrong shape!

Emotion

Emotion is the final component of the Necrotic Laboratory Puzzle. It's the distinctive yellow shape on the bottom. Thankfully, its corresponding shape is also on the bottom, so finishing the puzzle should be a breeze. Simply pick the centermost node, then move left and up until you reach the other side.
