Best nature for Cutiefly and Ribombee in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Not too many Bug/Fairy-types out there.

Bag and Fairy might be one of the craziest type combinations in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, but Ribombee makes it work. At a huge 124 base Speed, Ribombee can easily outrun the likes of Greninja and Gengar. Ribombee is also a Pokémon that will need specific natures for it to work well, though. Here's a guide for that.

Which are the best natures for Cutiefly and Ribombee in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best natures for Cutiefly and Ribombee in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are as follows:

  • Timid (+ Speed, - Attack)
  • Calm (+ Sp. Def, - Attack)

Ribombee can run several different sets, but all of them revolve around these two natures. Typically, Ribombee just sets up a Sticky Web, paralyzes something with Stun Spore, and dies. This set would use Timid to give Ribbonbee enough Speed to move first.

There are also offensive sets for Ribombee, too. With a 95 base Special Attack, the Pokémon could run Choice Specs and spam Moonblast. This Ribombee would also want a Timid nature so that it can pick up KOs on Greninja, Tornadus Therian, Adamant Dragapult, and other Pokémon in that speed tier.

On top of all that, Ribombee potentially gets the best move in the game: Quiver Dance. In one turn, it can have boosted Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. This set can run Timid to maximize Speed, but Calm is also an option for a bulky Ribombee, who gets Draining Kiss to heal up any damage it takes while setting up. I would still recommend Timid for this Ribombee just for the Speed, but bulky Ribombee can work in some matchups.

How to choose natures in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Choosing natures in Pokémon all comes down to figuring out which role the Pokémon will play. Fast Pokémon like Ribombee often need a Speed-boosting nature because they can't afford to be slower than other threats.

The Attack and Special Attack boosting natures are usually reserved for slower Pokémon like Kingambit and Gholdengo. This is because, since they can't outspeed many threats without a Choice Scarf, it's better to help them break down walls, which are often slow.
