Top 10 Best Spider-Man 2 Villains, ranked

10. Grizzly

Spider-Man 2 has many bad guys, but not all are super-famous. Maxwell Markham (known in villain circles as Grizzly) will never get his movie, but it doesn't mean he's an easy opponent. He looks like an angry Care Bear in comics, but his game version looks much more dangerous. Ultimately, we all know a former professional wrestler in a bear costume with claws and a club is no match for Spidey.

9. Wraith

While Wraith is a vigilante and not a villain, she is one of the opponents you must defeat for the story to move on. Yuriko "Yuri" Watanabe moves similarly to Spider-Man (without the wall-crawling), using her chained hook as a weapon and means of transportation.

8. Sandman

Sandman is literally the big boss in Spider-Man 2. You'll have to face multiple sand mini-versions of him before dealing with his powerful attacks, and he can control elemental sand and change the shape of his body. While he's powerful, he's the first boss in the game, so expect more challenging opponents in the later stages.

7. Lizard

Lizard is a tragic and misunderstood figure—he only wanted to turn the entire human population into lizards, and somehow, he's the bad guy? Jokes aside, Dr. Curt Connors is one of the most dangerous opponents you'll come across in Spider-Man 2, so be prepared for a long and challenging fight.

6. Taskmaster

While Taskmaster is not that important in Spider-Man 2, that doesn't mean fighting him will be a picnic. As you already know, this baddy can mimic Spidey's moves, making him the ultimate warrior.

5. Mister Negative

Martin Li is Mister Negative, a villain who's a huge threat to Spider-Man. Li is a mutant who can control dark energy, making him a very dangerous boss. Make sure to move constantly to avoid his dark matter attacks.

4. Kraven the Hunter

Kraven the Hunter is one of the more popular Spider-Man villains. In fact, he's so popular he got his own movie with Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass). So, with all that spotlight, you can be sure he'll make Spidey sweat under all those different Spider-Man 2 suits.

3. Scream

Scream is a symbiote and one of the most dangerous opponents in Spider-Man 2. We won't go into detail, but let's just say it is one emotional fight for Spidey.

2. Mysterio

Who knows, maybe Mysterio would be a famous illusionist or Hollywood mogul if he didn't choose the path of crime and deceit. Like Scarecrow in Batman games, Mysterio uses his illusions to trap you in weird surroundings where you'll struggle to get out.

1. Venom

Venom is arguably the most famous Spider-Man villain, so it's expected he's the most dangerous enemy in the game. I can't say much about Venom in Spider-Man 2 without entering spoiler territory, so let's leave it at that. But just you know, you'll need to be on top of your game to defeat this abomination.

Are there any more villains in Spider-Man 2?

You'll meet more characters from the Spider-Man franchise, but most are simple cameos. Of course, you'll face a small army of minions trying to defeat you, but they're less important than the villains mentioned above. Who is your favorite villain in Spider-Man 2? Tell us in the comments below!
