Merc Cleanup Mission Walkthrough (MW3 Zombies)

In Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you'll not only battle the undead but also weapon-wielding AI soldiers of the Terminus Outcomes PMC. The Tier 2 mission Merc Cleanup tasks you to find and eliminate these hostiles.

Complete the following objectives to receive the Deadshot Daquiri Perk-a-Cola Can in your rewards stash:

• Kill 20 Mercenaries in Merc Camps.
• Loot 3 Merc Camp Caches.

Where to find Merc Camps in MW3 Zombies

To find a Mercenary Camp, open your tac map and look for the tent icon I've shown in the image above. These PMC-guarded outposts can be found all across Urzikstan and you can clear them out for bonus XP, Essence, and some other loot items.

Merc Camps have around a dozen armored and non-armored soldiers who you can easily eliminate with headshots or critical kills. Before entering the guarded area, I suggest you destroy the Counter UAV circling overhead (first image) to prevent it from scrambling your tac map. Also, beware of any Sentry Turret and snipers posted on high ground like a water tower. An activity completion pop-up (second image) will appear once all the Mercenaries are dead.

The Merc Cleanup mission asks you to kill 20 hostiles, which can be easily done by clearing two or three Mercenary Camps. However, this mission is bugged and the progress isn't tracking properly. I managed to complete the challenge after clearing several camps and killing numerous enemies. You can try completing the next mission first and going for this one later on to see if that works.

How to find and loot Merc Camp Cache in MW3 Zombies

Each Mercenary Camp has a Merc Cache in the center as shown in the first picture. You simply need to open it and the mission's second objective will progress. If that doesn't happen, try picking up any item from the loot cache. This way, you'll have to secure three Merc Camps to complete the mission.
