The map of Enshrouded is extensive, so you will soon want to get your hands on a Glider. There are several tiers of these, and they will allow you to discover locations much quicker by getting on top of a tower or mountain and gliding your way down to them.
How to craft the Glider in Enshrouded
The Glider can be crafted at a Workbench. To build the Workbench you will need to make 3 pieces of String from Plant Fiber, and use 8 Wood Logs.
Once you have the bench placed, you will unlock new recipes, among those, the Glider. To craft this, you'll need:
- 2 String.
- 2 Animal Fur, which can be looted from dead animals or found in tents the world as you explore.
- 2 Shroud Spores, which are dropped by shroud enemies when you defeat them.
- 8 Shroud wood.
Where to find Shroud Wood in Enshrouded
While regular Wood Logs can be found almost anywhere, or even collected from the destruction of wooden items, Shroud Wood can only be found inside deep shroud areas, where there are still some trees remaining. Chop at these shrouded trees and instead of wood logs they'll drop Shroud Wood.
How to use the Glider in Enshrouded
First, you will need to equip it. Go to your Character tab, and press the Glider empty slot and equip the new Glider. Now you only have to double jump to activate it.
- Run towards a cliff and jump, and then press jump again while in the air to deploy it.
- The Glider will stay open until you close it with right mouse button on PC or B on Xbox.
- It is more intuitive to control with a gamepad, where you use the left stick to change directions. On PC, you need to steer with the directional keys (A and D by default), and not with the mouse.
- If you press the Forward key/button, you will plunge downwards. And, remember, the Glider cannot go back up; so avoid doing so if you don't want to lose altitude.
- Be mindful that gliding drains stamina. Although it does it slowly, if you initiate a big jump with a low stamina bar, you may end up falling to death.
- To land, you can just crash into any cliff or against the ground and you won't take any fall damage for it (as long as the glider is active). Instead, your character will roll to absorb the impact.
How to craft the Advanced Glider in Enshrouded
This glider can be crafted through the Carpenter, one of the sleeping survivors found in Ancient Vaults. But to craft it, you will need Linen. This is found in the Revelwoods and can be crafted using a Hand Spindle—a station you can unlock if you follow the quests of the Huntress.
You will also need fog sack, which is dropped by Spitting Plants in the Fog around Revelwoods.
How to craft the Extraordinary Glider in Enshrouded
Once you discover Leather, you can craft this glider with the help of the Carpenter. Leather can be found in the Steppe area, or crafter through the Tanning Table—another station unlocked through the Huntress quest line.
For this glider you will also need an Alchemical Base, which is also found on the Steppe or crafted at the Alchemical Station. To unlock this, you need to follow the Alchemist's quest line and get the Black Cauldron.
How to unlock the Ghost Glider in Enshrouded
There is a special quest in the Desert that retrieves one of these gliders. After that, you will be able to craft it using:
- Shroud Wood
- Fabric, crafted at the Loom (once you've advanced the Huntress quests)
- Fog Oil, found in the Desert and crafted at the Laboratory (Alchemist quest line)
- Sulfur, mined at the Desert
- String
