How to buy shell insurance in Another Crab’s Treasure

Not too broke for shell insurance!

You'll be getting your shells broken all the time in Another Crab's Treasure, so it's a good idea to get them insured for when you respawn. Here's how to buy shell insurance in Another Crab's Treasure.

What does shell insurance do in Another Crab's Treasure

Shell insurance ensures that you can respawn with a specific shell after death. When you are in the Moon Snail Shell, go to the Shell Collection button and you can pin exactly which shell you want to come back to life with. You can only choose the shells you have insured, so make sure to do that for your favorites.

Without any insurance, you'll have to go and find a shell to reside in. Given your shell essentially acts as your shield and additional health, it's worthwhile taking shell insurance out on your best one.

Where to get shell insurance in Another Crab's Treasure

The place to get shell insurance in Another Crab's Treasure is Shellfish Desires, a shop in New Carcinia in the Upper Crust. Interact with the Shellfish Greeter standing in front of the door and suffer through him calling you broke. Once that's done, he will offer you to window shop at the store.

You can either buy new shells or get shell insurance for any shell you have found so far in the game. If you want to get insurance for a different shell you find later, you can just use the Shelleportation Umami skill to get back to New Carcinia and the shop.

As mentioned, all of the shells that you have found so far in the world can be purchased for microplastics at the shop. Some are cheaper, like the often found Soda Can, while the Tin Can, for example, is much more expensive. If you have junk to sell, you can head over to sell them to Prawnathan and get some extra microplastics.

Once you have a shell insured, you can head over to the closest Moon Snail Shell and select that shell to start with every time you respawn. This is super useful, as you have probably gotten your shell badly damaged or even destroyed when you've been fighting with other underwater inhabitants.

As mentioned above, you can also purchase new shells at the store. If any catch your eye, you can come back when you have microplastics and grab them as well, then insure them so that you can set them as a respawn shell.
