That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is an alternate-universe anime with a new and strange twist. The main character is reborn as a light blue slime after his untimely death in his world, and decides that the best thing he can do with his new life is try to unite the land's various races. Following the success of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories, it's no wonder we're seeing a second game appear.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles release date
BANDAI NAMCO announced that That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles will be released on August 8, 2024. It's great to see the game has a set release date attached to it, rather than a vague 2024 release window. However, keep in mind that release dates can be delayed right up until a few weeks before the game is due to hit store shelves and digital storefronts.
This is the second game to come from the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series. The first, which I mentioned earlier (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories), was only released for mobile. If you haven't played it yet, ISEKAI Memories could help keep you occupied before the new action RPG is released this summer. ISEKAI Memories can be found on both Google Play and the Apple Store.

Is ISEKAI Chronicles the same as ISEKAI Memories?
Nope, it's a completely different genre of game! That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles is an action RPG and is the first console and PC game of the Tensura series, making it unique from ISEKAI Memories. ISEKAI Memories is only available on mobile platforms, and was designed as a 3D game, while ISEKAI Chronicles is a 2D side-scrolling game.
What is the story behind That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles?
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles follows the original story that took place in the light novel series, including the encounters with the Kijin and the Kingdom of Falmuth. This is a perfect game for fans of the anime but didn't get into the light novel or manga series.
The main character starts off as Satoru Mikami, an ordinary 37-year-old office worker living in Tokyo. He seems fairly content with his dull life until he's stabbed by an unknown assailant. He is reborn in what seems to be a fantasy world, full of magic and creatures he's never seen before. Oh, and he's a slime. That's important.
After getting to grips with his new abilities, he meets a Storm Dragon by the name of Veldora. Veldora has been sealed away for the last 300 years, and Satoru befriends him, promising to help destroy the seal. They decide to exchange names, Veldora names him "Rimuru," and Rimuru renames him "Tempest" in return. Using his ability, Rimuru consumes Tempest and his prison, hoping to eventually free him.
The disappearance of Tempest causes a power vacuum in the forest, which Rimuru fills, hoping to bring harmony to all races of the land. His rise to power and success in creating a great nation gains the attention of nearby friends and foes.
What else will That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles feature?
The original author, known only as "Fuse", will include two additional stories that haven't been seen before. Players will also see new characters, designed by the original illustrator of the series: Mitz Vah.
Discover the nation of Tempest, take part in nail-biting battles, and enjoy throwing down a few attack combinations to truly show off your power.
