How to unlock your first pet in Diablo 4

You must complete a Faithful Companion priority quest to get your first pet in Diablo 4. Follow the instructions below to complete the quest and get your dog.

  1. Travel to Kyovashad.
  2. Follow the quest marker until you meet a Well Behaved Dog.
  3. Interact with him to complete the quest by petting him.

As a reward, you'll get Asheara the Canine Pet. While this is your first pet in Diablo 4, you can get more of them. Imagine your Diablo 4 mount's happiness when you get him company!

How to get all pets in Diablo 4

What pets you own depends on what version of Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred you've pre-purchased. Here's what pet you get for Ultimate, Deluxe, and Standard editions. Although the Vessel of Hatred release date is October 8, 2024, you can get pets straight away if you pre-purchase this DLC.

  • Ultimate Edition - you'll get Alkor the Snow Leopard Pet, Natalya the Tiger Pet, and Hlrati the Canine Pet.
  • Deluxe Edition - you'll get Alkor and Hratli.
  • Standard Edition - you'll get Alkor.

How to change pets in Diablo 4

You can take only one pet on your adventures in Diablo 4. To choose your favorite pet (and make others sad), head to your Wardrobe and select any unlocked pet to equip. While their prime role is to be cute, they'll also assist you in collecting gold and crafting materials.
