The new search function coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Creative Director teases the search feature all fans have been waiting for

I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW PLEASED I AM.

Since its launch, Disney Dreamlight Valley has continually delighted players with new content. So far in 2024, two free Realms and five new characters have been added, and there have been updates to Scrooge McDuck’s Store, Furniture Mode, and DreamSnaps. But all of that actually pales in comparison to one of the features fans have repeatedly asked for: A search function.

Players have been requesting this feature for months, and it’s finally on its way! The search function will make interacting with your inventory much easier, especially as the number of items in the game continues to grow. Up to this point, finding specific items in the furniture menu was a tedious task, often requiring players to scroll through hundreds of items. Clothing was a little easier to find, but it still involved a lot of scrolling.

Honestly, it's one of the most annoying things in the game.

This new search feature will allow players to quickly and easily find what they’re looking for, making decorating and organizing their Valley much less time-consuming. No more endless scrolling or guessing which category an item might be in – just type in what you need, and voilà!

Although the search function is super exciting, it's not the only thing coming to DDV. Tiana from The Princess and the Frog is set to join the Valley in August 2024. This update will not only introduce Tiana’s Palace and new outdoor décor but also bring a touch of 1920s class with a themed Star Path. But that’s not all – the conclusion to the DLC, Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, will take players into Jafar’s palace for one final adventure.

October will see the arrival of Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King, bringing new surprises and helping players deal with an invasion of Night Mites.

2024 will come to an end with a mysterious event involving Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, promising even more spooky fun.

One last piece of news: GameLoft is working on features to give players more space and freedom to decorate their Valleys. I truly hope that this means an expanded item limit for all platforms, we Switch players are suffering.
