Shadowrun developer’s new game GRAFT is an isometric horror dripping with atmosphere

GRAFT is an upcoming indie game from the creators of Shadowrun, which is enough for me. But after I saw the trailers, I'm even more convinced that this horror-cyberpunk-RPG mashup will be fantastic if developers play their cards right.

While the GRAFT release date is unknown, we know more about the game story. Your world, the Arc, is dying, and your main goal is survival. To succeed, you'll have to evolve using Grafts, body augmentations that change your body and mind that sound similar to Cyberdecks in Cyberpunk 2077. Basically, you will constantly evolve your hero by implementing new abilities. How exactly that works is still not explained.

Interestingly, the game is very similar to Shadowrun visually, including an isometric view. Cyberpunk is also the main theme, although the action reminds me of twin-stick shooters. Unexpectedly, the horror atmosphere resembles Limbo and maybe even moreso Inside, with a little Aliens thrown in for good measure.

As there is still not enough information about the game, we can only speculate about the game mechanics, RPG elements, and especially gameplay outside of fighting zones. Developer Harebrained has promised "a dark RPG experience" and "tense survival horror combat," which sounds great on paper. Now, we only need to wait a bit.

Below, the GRAFT announcement trailer introduces us to the dying post-cyberpunk world filled with monsters. You can learn more about the game by visiting the official GRAFT website and following developers @WeBeHarebrained on X (Twitter).

What is the GRAFT release date? (Platforms)

A release date for GRAFT is not known; it's only listed as "to be announced" on Steam and "Coming Soon" on Epic Game Store. When we have more information, we'll be sure to deliver it!

The game will only be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store at first; it's still unknown if it will be available for PlayStation or Xbox at some point.
