Any party member can equip an Archetype at its most basic level, and multiple characters can use the same class simultaneously. Archetypes cannot be changed mid-battle, so it's important to speak to More before entering an area that you'll be stuck in for a while.

Seeker Archetype

The Seeker is the Protagonist’s main Archetype, unlocked after meeting More in the story. It’s a versatile option that combines Wind-based magic with healing abilities, making it great for both offense and support. With the ability to exploit Wind weaknesses and provide reliable healing, the Seeker adapts well to different battle situations. Plus, it only costs 375 Mag to unlock, so you shouldn't have any trouble starting out with your first Archetype in battle.

Skills:

  • Chase Support: [Hero Passive] Makes support attacks from comrades happen more easily in overworld combat.
  • Cyc: Deals weak Wind damage to one enemy.
  • Dei: Weak HP recovery for one ally.
  • Tarukaja: Increases one ally’s Attack for 3 turns.
  • Sweeping Slash: Deals weak physical Slash damage to one enemy.
  • Cyclo: Deals medium magic Wind damage to one enemy.
  • Tetrabreak: Negates one enemy’s Repel Physical skill.

The Seeker Archetype is Weak against Fire and Resistant against Wind.

Seeker Archetype upgrade #1: Magic Seeker

The Magic Seeker is an upgrade of the Seeker Archetype, unlocked after forming a Rank 3 Bond with More, and gaining Seeker Rank 20. This upgrade improves your Wind magic and healing abilities, giving you greater flexibility in battle. It costs 6,000 Mag to unlock and is an excellent option for players who want to deal heavier damage and recover more health for allies.

Skills:

  • Cyclo: Deals medium Wind damage to one enemy.
  • Deiama: Medium HP recovery for one ally.
  • Wind Dodge: [Passive] Increases Evasion against Wind attacks.
  • Cyclone: Deals heavy Wind damage to one enemy.

The Magic Seeker upgrade is Weak against Fire and Resistant against Wind.

Seeker Archetype upgrade #2: Soul Hacker

The Soul Hacker is the second upgrade for the Seeker Archetype, unlocked by reaching a Rank 7 Bond with More and having a Rank 20 Magic Seeker. This upgrade enhances Wind magic even further and provides a unique ability to restore MP while dealing damage. Unlocking this powerful Archetype costs 16,500 Mag.

Skills:

  • Void Wave: Heavy Wind damage to one enemy, reduces their Attack.
  • Seeker’s Gale: Heavy Wind damage to all enemies, recovers MP.
  • Adventurer’s Curiosity: Increases Critical Rate for all allies.

The Soul Hacker upgrade is Weak against Fire and Resistant against Wind and Dark skills.

Seeker Archetype upgrade #3: Prince

The Prince is the final evolution of the Seeker Archetype, available exclusively to the Protagonist as part of the story. This Archetype offers powerful offensive abilities, including a devastating Almighty attack, and boosts to various stats. With no Mag cost and no weaknesses, it’s a formidable choice for the endgame.

Skills:

  • Cooperative Chase: [Hero Passive] Makes support attacks easier and stuns enemies.
  • Hero’s Proving: Increases Attack, Defense, Hit, and Evasion by 3 ranks.
  • Royal Slash: Extreme Almighty damage to one enemy.

The Prince upgrade has no Weaknesses and is Resistant against all affinities except Almighty.

Warrior Archetype

The Warrior is Strohl’s main Archetype, unlocked when Strohl awakens early in the story. It focuses on physical Slash damage and offensive skills, making it great for dealing heavy blows to enemies. You'll need to start a bond with Strohl and spend 375 Mag to unlock it.

Skills:

  • Diagonal Slash: Weak physical Slash damage.
  • Slicer: Deals weak Slash damage 2-4 times.
  • Critical Strike: Low hit rate, but guaranteed critical damage.

The Warrior Archetype is Weak to Wind and Resistant to Fire.

Warrior Archetype upgrade #1: Swordmaster

The Swordmaster is the first upgrade for the Warrior, offering stronger Slash abilities. You'll need a Rank 3 Bond with Strohl, Warrior Rank 20, and 6000 Mag.

Skills:

  • Round Slash: Weak Slash damage to all enemies.
  • Rising Slash: Medium Slash damage to all enemies.
  • Martial Lore: [Passive] Increases basic attack power by 50%.

The Swordmaster upgrade is Weak to Wind and Resistant to Fire.

Warrior Archetype upgrade #2: Samurai

The Samurai upgrade further enhances Strohl's offensive power, adding Electric damage and improved stats. Unlock it by reaching a Rank 6 Bond with Strohl, Swordmaster Rank 20, General Rank 10, and spending 16,500 Mag.

Skills:

  • Thunder Blade: Heavy Electric damage to all enemies.
  • Unwavering Blade: Increases Hit and Evasion by 3 ranks.

The Samurai upgrade is Weak to Wind and Resistant to Fire and Light.

Warrior Archetype upgrade #3: Royal Warrior

The final upgrade, Royal Warrior, gives Strohl incredibly powerful Slash abilities and special passives. You'll need a Rank 8 Bond with Strohl, Samurai Rank 20, Warlord Rank 20, and 30,000 Mag.

Skills:

  • Vorpal Blade: Extreme Slash damage, reduces Attack for 3 turns.
  • Brave Blade: Heavy Slash damage, high critical rate.
  • Noble Warrior’s Soul: [Passive] No turn icon loss if the wielder defeats an enemy.

The Royal Warrior upgrade is Weak to Wind and Resistant to Fire and Light.

Mage Archetype

The Mage Archetype is tied to your fairy companion Gallica and focuses on elemental magic, offering Fire, Ice, and Electric attacks. It's a great Archetype for dealing with a variety of enemy weaknesses. After you start your Bond with Gallica (which happens organically), you'll need 375 Mag to unlock the Archetype.

Skills:

  • Bot: Weak Fire damage.
  • Blizz: Weak Ice damage.
  • Kande: Weak Electric damage.
  • Magic Font: [Passive] Raises MP by 15%.

The Mage Archetype is Weak to Pierce and Resistant to Ice.

Mage Archetype upgrade #1: Wizard

The Wizard is the first upgrade for the Mage, unlocked after reaching a Rank 3 Bond with Gallica and Mage Rank 20. This upgrade enhances your elemental damage and improves your Synthesis skill. It costs 6,000 Mag to unlock.

Skills:

  • Botra: Medium Fire damage.
  • Arcane Unity: [Passive] Increases strength and hit rate of Synthesis.

The Wizard upgrade is Weak to Pierce and Resistant

Mage Archetype upgrade #2: Warlock

The Warlock is the second upgrade for the Mage, unlocked by reaching Bond Rank 8 with Gallica, Wizard Rank 20, and Assassin Rank 10. It specializes in Dark magic and offers improved MP recovery, making it a great option for sustained magic attacks. You'll need 16,500 Mag to unlock this upgrade.

Skills:

  • Mudodyne: Heavy Dark damage to one enemy.
  • Magic Reversion: [Passive] Recovers MP after defeating an enemy.

The Warlock upgrade is Weak to Pierce and Resistant to Light and Dark.

Mage Archetype upgrade #3: Elemental Master

The final upgrade, Elemental Master, is the best of the Mage Archetype. It requires Bond Rank 8 with Gallica and Wizard Rank 20, and costs 16,500 Mag. As an Elemental Master, you’ll gain powerful Fire and Ice abilities, along with a passive that drastically reduces MP costs for Synthesis spells.

Skills:

  • Boatona: Heavy Fire damage.
  • Blizzaton: Heavy Ice damage.
  • Magic Link: [Passive] Halves MP cost of Synthesis.

The Elemental Master upgrade is Weak to Pierce and Resistant to Fire, Ice, Electric, and Wind.

Healer Archetype

The Healer Archetype belongs to Maria and focuses on healing magic with a touch of Light magic damage. It's an essential Archetype to have, perfect for providing consistent support during tough battles. To unlock it, start a bond with Maria by talking to her the evening you meet her and spend 750 Mag.

Skills:

  • Hama: Deals weak Light magic damage to one enemy.
  • Medi: Heals a small amount of HP for all allies.
  • Patra: Cures a status ailment for one ally.
  • Light Dodge: [Passive] Increases evasion against Light attacks.
  • Dekunda: Removes all debuffs from all allies.
  • Healer’s Insight: [Passive] Recovers medium HP every turn, with increased healing if there are other Archetypes of the same Lineage.

The Healer Archetype is Weak to Strike and Dark skills, and Resistant to Light skills.

Healer Archetype upgrade #1: Cleric

The Cleric upgrade transforms your healing capabilities, providing stronger Light magic and the ability to revive KO'd allies. To unlock this upgrade, you need a Rank 3 Bond with Maria, Healer Rank 20, and 6,750 Mag.

Skills:

  • Hamaon: Medium Light magic damage to one enemy.
  • Medica: Medium HP recovery for all allies.
  • Recarm: Revives one ally with 50% HP.
  • Rydinei: Heals one ally for 10% of their HP each turn for 3 turns.
  • Godly Blessing: [Passive] Healing effects are 1.5x more effective.
  • Samarecarm: Revives one ally with full HP.

The Cleric upgrade is Weak to Strike and Dark, while Resistant to Light.

Healer Archetype upgrade #2: Saviour

The Saviour is the ultimate healing Archetype, enhancing Light magic and ensuring allies can survive fatal blows once per battle. To unlock this upgrade, you need a Rank 8 Bond with Maria, Cleric Rank 20, and 18,750 Mag.

Skills:

  • Hamadyne: Heavy Light magic damage to one enemy.
  • Medicall: Large HP recovery for all allies.
  • Pen Patra: Cures status ailments for all allies.
  • Exorcist Light: Deals extreme Light magic damage to one enemy.
  • Patrecarm: Allows one ally to survive a fatal attack with 1 HP, once per battle.

Knight Archetype

Knight Archetype upgrade #1: Magic Knight

The Magic Knight upgrade enhances your defensive and healing skills. To unlock it, you need a Rank 3 Bond with Hulkenberg, Knight Rank 20, Mage Rank 10, and 6,750 Mag.

Skills:

  • Rakukaja: Increases one ally’s Defense for 3 turns.
  • Mediline: Weak HP recovery for all allies in the same row.

The Magic Knight upgrade is Weak to Electric and Resistant to Light and Slash.

Knight Archetype upgrade #2: Dark Knight

The Dark Knight upgrade adds powerful Electric damage while maintaining your defensive capabilities. You need a Rank 7 Bond with Hulkenberg, Magic Knight Rank 20, Wizard Rank 10, and 18,750 Mag to unlock this upgrade.

Skills:

  • Thunderstrike Thrust: Medium Electric damage, lowers enemy Defense.

The Dark Knight upgrade is Weak to Electric and Resistant to Light, Dark, and Slash.

Knight Archetype upgrade #3: Paladin

The Paladin upgrade offers the ultimate defensive skills, including powerful protection abilities. You need a Rank 7 Bond with Hulkenberg and Magic Knight Rank 20, along with 18,750 Mag to unlock this upgrade.

Skills:

  • Holy Knight’s Proclamation: Guards, drawing enemy attention and taking attacks for allies for 1 turn (Certain attacks defy this effect.)
  • Knight’s Defence: Increases caster’s Defence by three ranks for 3 turns.
  • Protect Guard: Raises a barrier that nullifies one Slash/Pierce/Strike attack for one ally.
  • Counter (Passive): Has a 15% chance of repelling Slash/Pierce/Strike damage.
  • Emergency Aid: Weak HP recovery for all allies. (Can only be used from the main menu.)
  • Holy Knight’s Works: Recovers a medium amount of HP and removes debuff effects.
  • Revitalize 3 (Passive): Recovers significant MP every turn.

The Paladin upgrade is Weak to Electric and Resistant to Light and Slash.

Knight Archetype upgrade #4: Royal Knight

The Royal Knight upgrade is the final upgrade for the Knight Archetype, and it provides incredible defensive and recovery abilities. To unlock it, you need a Rank 8 Bond with Hulkenberg, Paladin Rank 20, Dark Knight Rank 15, Elemental Master Rank 15, and 30,000 Mag. This upgrade is exclusive to Hulkenberg.

Skills:

  • Holy Knight’s Proclamation: Guards, drawing enemy attention and taking attacks for allies for 1 turn. (Certain attacks defy this effect.)
  • Instant Recovery (Passive): Ensures status ailments are automatically cured in 1 turn.
  • Thunderstrike Thrust: Deals medium physical Electric damage to one enemy. Lowers their Defence for 3 turns.
  • Mad Rush: Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy.
  • Omni-Guard: Raises a barrier that nullifies one non-Almighty attack for one ally.
  • Pierce Surge (Passive): Increases Pierce Attack by 30%.
  • Omni-Counter (Passive): Has a 15% chance of repelling non-Almighty damage.
  • Noble Knight’s Soul (Passive): Adds one Turn Icon on the turn after a Proclamation skill is used. (Does not apply if the caster is incapacitated.)

The Royal Knight upgrade is Weak to Electric and Resistant to Light and Slash, while also Repelling Wind.

Merchant Archetype

Brigitta’s Merchant Archetype is unique, using money instead of MP for its skills and dealing Almighty damage, which cannot be blocked. This Archetype offers a high critical hit rate, providing valuable extra turns. You need a starting bond with Brigitta and 1,875 Mag to unlock this Archetype.

Skills:

  • Gold Attack: Weak physical Almighty damage to one enemy with a high critical rate.
  • Lucky Find: [Passive] Increases the chance of receiving items after battle by 20%.
  • Trader’s Summit: [Passive] Boosts the effects of consumables by 1.2x.
  • Fire Dodge: [Passive] Increases evasion against Fire attacks.
  • Debt Collection: Steals Mag from one enemy.

The Merchant upgrade is Weak to Fire and Light and has no Resistances.

Merchant Archetype upgrade #1: Tycoon

The Tycoon upgrade enhances your ability to land critical hits and multiply item effects. To unlock it, you need a Rank 8 Bond with Brigitta, Merchant Rank 20, and Commander Rank 10.

Skills:

  • Gold Rush: Heavy physical Almighty damage with a high critical rate to one enemy.
  • Lucky Find: Same as before.
  • Item Connoisseur: [Passive] Doubles the effects of consumables.
  • Luckier Find: [Passive] Increases the chance of receiving rare items after battle by 20%.
  • Critical Trade: [Passive] Doubles the chance of dealing a critical hit.
  • Almighty Boost: [Passive] Increases Almighty damage by 20%.

The Tycoon upgrade is Weak to Fire and Light and has no Resistances.
