Angler Quests in Fisch

One of the best ways to make steady money in Fisch is by completing quests for the Angler NPCs. You can find them scattered across different islands, and they’re always ready to send you out on a fishing mission.

On the starter island, Moosewood, the Angler NPC is a bit sneaky - he’s hiding around the corner, just opposite the Merchant booth. When you first speak to him, he might ask you to catch a Trumpetfish. Trumpetfish are a little tricky - they’re an uncommon fish that show up during clear days in autumn or summer, and you’ll need Shrimp as bait to reel them in.

However, the fish he asks for seems to vary from player to player, so don’t be surprised if you get a different request.

Once you’re done with Moosewood’s Angler, you can move on to the other islands for even more quests (and rewards). Completing these will earn you a nice chunk of change, so it’s worth talking to each Angler NPC whenever you’re on a new island.

Angler NPC locations in Fisch

Here’s where you can find each Angler NPC in Fisch:

  • Moosewood - Right across from the Merchant booth.
  • Terrapin Island - Near the beach, across from the Shipwright.
  • Roslit Island - One near the NPC Ashe (by the campfire, where you get the glider), and another in a small shelter by the beach.
  • Sunstone Island - Right next to the Inn, near the shore.
  • Vertigo - Next to the NPC Synth.

These are the only locations with Angler NPCs, so be sure to visit each one to maximize your quests - and your earnings.

Fishing in Fisch

Another solid method for making money is, of course, fishing. XxMakio on Discord made an amazing map of Fisch that shows players where to find every fish, NPC locations, and more. You can find a larger version of it on the Fisch Trello. This is extremely useful to have open for Angler quests, as well, to help you locate all the fish in Fisch much faster.

But you’ll need to invest in the right rods when you're fishing. Better rods mean better fish, and better fish means bigger profits.

Best fishing rods to buy in Fisch

  • Lucky Rod (5,250C$ from Moosewood Merchant) - This rod gives you a 70% luck boost, which increases your chances of catching something worthwhile.
  • Mythical Rod (110,000C$ from the traveling merchant) - With 45% luck and a chance to catch Mythic fish, this rod is perfect if you’re aiming for the rarest catches.
  • Fortune Rod (12,750C$ from the Roslit blacksmith) - A 110% luck boost and the ability to catch fish up to 700kg make this rod a fantastic mid-tier choice.
  • Kings Rod (120,000C$ from the Enchant Altar) - There’s no upper weight limit on the fish you can catch with this rod, and it provides a 55% luck boost.
  • Destiny Rod (190,000C$ from Caleia at the arch) - With a whopping 250% luck boost and the ability to catch fish up to 2,000kg, this is the ultimate rod for serious fishers.

These rods will help you catch more fish faster and make more money in less time. Also, don’t forget that rarer fish often show up based on weather and time of day, so it’s worth knowing the specific conditions for the fish you’re after.

Using the Totems for fishing

Fishing in Fisch isn’t just about your rod - it’s also about being in the right place, at the right time, in the right weather. That’s where Totems come in! There are three totems scattered around the islands that let you change the weather and time, making it easier to catch specific types of fish.

All totem locations

Here’s where you can find each Totem and what it does:

  • Sundial Totem (Sunstone Island) - Switch between day and night with this totem.
  • Windset Totem (Terrapin Island) - Use this totem to make the weather windy.
  • Tempest Totem (Snowcap Island) - This one creates rain, which is perfect for catching certain fish like the Bull Shark, which only shows up on rainy or foggy spring days.

These totems are absolute lifesavers when you’re after a specific fish. Just make sure to use them wisely to help you reel in something rare.

Use bait while fishing in Fisch

You should also consider the type of bait you have. There are 17 types of bait in Fisch, and 90 of the fish and sea creatures require specific bait for an easier catch.

For example, Mackerel fish may be common, but you’ll have a much easier time catching them using Shrimp bait, especially on foggy spring days. So always be mindful of the bait you’re using, and switch it up depending on what fish you’re hunting for!

Here's a quick list of bait you can get in Fisch:

  • Seaweed
  • Squid
  • Shrimp
  • Bagel
  • Insect
  • Maggot
  • Worm
  • Flakes
  • Magnet
  • Truffle Worm
  • Minnow
  • Coal
  • Rapid Catcher
  • Super Flakes
  • Night Shrimp
  • Fish Head
  • Weird Algae

You can buy Bait Crates from Moosewood. Near the scoreboards, there's an NPC with a stack on the nearby rocks (see image above). They're 120C$ each, and contain random bait.

AFK fishing in Fisch

The final money-making method is to try AFK fishing. You can fish while AFK in Fisch, but there’s a catch - if you want to do it without any external programs (use those at your own risk), you’ll need to be okay with a slower method.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Open up Fisch on one part of your screen (you can use a split screen or have Fisch open on a second monitor if you have one) and keep doing whatever else you need to on the other side.
  2. Cast your line and wait for the “!” to pop up above your character’s head. That’s your sign a fish is hooked.
  3. You can either interact immediately to reel it in or try your luck and wait. If you wait too long, the fish might get away, but hey - reeling in fish every now and then while doing something else is still a great way to make passive money in Fisch.

I tried this while writing another Fisch guide, and it works like a charm. You just have to pay a bit of attention to the Fisch window.
