Odin File Size on Mobile

Android file-size breakdown

If you're like me and have downloaded 3GB of a game from the Play Store only to then see a warning for additional 21GB that you need to download, then there are a couple of things you can do to free up space for Odin. First, make sure to clear your cache folder in your phone Settings. This will usually clear up quite a bit of your space, but keep in mind that your apps may load a bit slower once you open them for the first time after this.

Another more extreme version of this is just uninstalling apps you don't use, or use rarely, from your phone. I am emotionally attached to my Fate GO game, but have I opened it at all in the last year? Sadly it can go (for now). You can always reinstall things later. Make sure all of your Trash is empty as well and that you don't have large files downloaded on your phone which you don't need.

iOS vs. Android

If you check the App Store, you'll see that the Odin install size is only 325MB which is way less than on the Google Play Store. However, Apple users don't have it any better, as the in-game additional download (of textures, voice packs, etc.) gets to be about the same size, around 21GB.

Odin Valhalla Rising Storage Saving Tips

As mentioned previously above, there are a couple of ways you can make sure you have enough storage for future patches. We can only assume they are gonna be large as well considering the base Odin download size.

When it comes to Android, always make sure your cache for the game is clear. You can do so by:

  • Going to Android Settings
  • Open Apps
  • Go to Odin: Valhalla Rising
  • Select Storage
  • Clear Cache

Another way to make sure you have enough space is to get a large SD card and use it for applications. You'll follow the same pathway as above, then in Storage Used select SD card instead of Internal for Odin: Valhalla Rising (or for other games if you want to keep this one on your phone).

For Apple, there are several ways to ensure that you have enough storage for Odin on mobile:

  • Offload the app - frees up storage from an app but keeps its documents and data
  • Delete the app - remove unused apps and its data from your storage
  • Delete specific documents and data of an app - depends on the app

Common Issues and Fixes

The game hasn't been out for long but players have been experiencing quite a few errors that you can fix. Here are a few as well as their solutions!

  • Not enough storage space - if you encounter this error, check our solutions above on how to get enough space for both Android and Apple devices.
  • Stuck on unpack 99% - If your installation progress seems to be stuck before it reaches 100%, there are a few possible causes. First, this could be an unstable network problem. If that's not the issue, you should stop the download, delete all files from your device and restart the installation.
