While finding a class in Backpack Battles can be a breeze, you might need to take a few moments parsing out the best choice of subclass once it becomes available. We've got a detailed breakdown of all five, including a few helpful recommendations!

All available subclasses for Pyromancer in Backpack Battles

Ashbringer	Dark Lantern	Start of battle: Lose 50% health. Before defeat: Reincarnate with 50% life and become invulnerable for two seconds. On reincarnation: Deal 10 damage for each Star Fire item and inflict six debuffs for each diamond Dark item.
Crusader	Burning Banner	25% to protect buffs on you from being removed and debuffs on your opponent from being cleansed. Star Holy item will activate: 30% chance to inflict one Blind for five seconds. Every three seconds: Removes two buffs from your opponent and adds two Regeneration.
Cryomancer	Frozen Flame	Start of battle: Gain 15 Block for each Star Ice item. Five Heat gained: Inflict two Cold. For each Cold of your opponent, the diamond item has +2% crit chance and +2% critical damage. Ice items are available in the shop.
Firebender	Friendly Fire	Every three seconds: Use one mana to gain two heat. Triggers 10% faster for each Star Fire item. 20 Heat reached: Gain five luck. 40 Heat reached: Gain 15 regeneration. 80 Heat Reached: Deal 100 damage.
Scalewarden	Dragon Nest	Start of battle: Gain three luck, two regeneration, four mana, and five heat. Star Dragon attacks: Heal for 7. Star Dragon Eggs hatch after one round. Dragon Eggs are sold in the shop.

What is the best Pyromancer subclass in Backpack Battles?

While some items included with different subclasses have higher powers or abilities, it will majorly depend on your individual play style. The best Pyromancer subclass for you can often be determined by your playing habits, so we'll recommend three subclasses under that criteria:

If you collect heat easily, we recommend Firebender, where you'll get the biggest bang for your buck. Firebender has some major perks, but you must be accruing heat regularly to get any use from them.
If you have a high enough defense to take a beating initially, we think you'll get a lot of value from the Ashbringer class. While the Ashbringer subclass will bring you back to life in battle, you don't want that to happen to early on.
If buffs and debuffs define your battles, you'll want to choose the Crusader subclass. Crusader will give you a good crutch to lean on in tough matches, but you'll need the weapons to back up the perks.
