Blasphemous 2 Steely Battle Lance and Yerma’s Quest Guide

I encountered numerous bosses and challenges throughout Cvstodia, but I also encountered a handful of NPCs that offered The Penitent One assistance. One such NPC that stood out to me was Yerma, who gave me a quest item called the Steely Battle Lance. In addition to this item, she also assisted me in fighting various bosses as I progressed through her quest.

Where to get the Steely Battle Lance in Blasphemous 2

The first time you meet Yerma, an NPC wearing a green cloak and wielding a spear, she will give you the Steely Battle Lance in Profundo Lamento. Once you unlock this quest item, you can upgrade your three weapons through Marks of Martyrdom and Weapon Memories. You will also start Yerma's questline, which sees you meeting her several times and collecting an optional item, the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment.

Where to find the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment in Blasphemous 2

The Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment is located in the Elevated Temples. Start from the Prie Dieu circled in the image below. Make your way down and then enter the door on the right. Use the Scions’ Protection Ability and Mercy of the Wind to reach the end of this new area. At the end, you will find the Holy Oil of Anointment.

Where to find Yerma - All Yerma Locations in Blasphemous 2

Yerma can be encountered multiple times throughout Cvstodia. While many of these are static encounters, there is a split path depending on whether you accept her help or find the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment. Here is where to find Yerma in Blasphemous 2.

Yerma Location 1 Profundo Lamento - Blasphemous 2

The first time you meet Yerma is in Profundo Lamento. Here, you encounter after defeating the swordsman enemy at the location marked below. Yerma gives you the Steely Battle Lance before dashing off.

Yerma Location 2 Beneath Her Sacred Grounds - Blasphemous 2

The next order of where you encounter Yerma can vary, but I met her for the second time in the Beneath Her Sacred Grounds area. She offers to assist you in combat, and if you accept her offer, she will appear during boss fights.

Yerma Location 3 Sacred Entombments - Blasphemous 2

I next met Yerma in the Sacred Entombments location, and she once again offered her help in an upcoming battle. I accepted her help, and she assisted me in defeating the Great Recepto Radames boss.

Yerma Location 4 Two Moons - Blasphemous 2

Your final encounter with Yerma occurs in Two Moons. She will request your help finding Holy Oil to anoint her spear. You then have the option of proceeding to fight Svsona without finding the Holy Oil or locating this item for Yerma. Either option will complete Yerma's questline but will change the outcome.

Yerma Location 5 Two Moons (No Holy Oil) - Blasphemous 2

If you do not collect the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment before facing Svsona, you will find Yerma dead at the boss's feet. You will also encounter Yerma's dead body if you refuse her help. While sad, as Yerma was one of the few friendly and helpful NPCs in Cvstodia, you can still collect a reward from this.

Yerma Quest Rewards in Blasphemous 2

• Using the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment and Helping Yerma
  • Zejel of the Cruelst Thorn (Prayer)
• Not Using the Holy Oil of Everlasting Anointment and Helping Yerma
  • Chisel-Engraved Wounds (Rosary Bead)

There are different rewards depending on if Yerma lives. The good news is you can still receive the other reward; you must simply purchase it from Casto's shop, located in the Streets of Wake. I personally recommend helping Yerma, as she is a cool NPC who deserves to live and provides valuable help during boss fights.
