Call of Duty: Vanguard finally receives RICOCHET Anti-Cheat

Cheaters beware!

Activision's kernel-level anti-cheat security driver, RICOCHET, was announced before the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard. While its main requirement was in the cheater-infested Warzone Battle Royale, the developers did promise that the anti-cheat would eventually make its way to Vanguard.

Several months after the game's release, Call of Duty has announced that RICOCHET anti-cheat for PCs has now been implemented globally in Vanguard with the Season 3 update. This news comes weeks after a top-ranked player on the Multiplayer leaderboard accidentally revealed his hacks on stream.

The addition of anti-cheat to Vanguard Multiplayer will ensure a fairer Ranked Play experience, to some extent at least. RICOCHET has been extremely successful in curbing cheaters in Warzone. While you may encounter hackers in the game sometimes, it's rarer compared to the conditions in Verdansk.

RICOCHET works in various different ways. First off, players are banned if the anti-cheat detects anything suspicious on their device. In other instances, players using cheats cannot detect characters, bullets, or sounds in the game. Furthermore, the cheater's bullets damage legitimate players with little to no damage.
