How to find and beat Warlord Rainmaker in CoD Modern Warfare 3 Zombies (MWZ)

Season 3 Reloaded has just hit live servers and with it comes a host of content for Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, including new schematics, a new story mission, and most importantly of all: a new Warlord to beat. We're here to show you how to find and take down Warlord Rainmaker.

Where to find and how to beat Warlord Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies (Location)

Warlord Rainmaker isn't a difficult man to find and that's due to the fact he's not hiding. You'll find his base of operations southeast of Urzikstan and southeast of Shahin Manor. There are multiple ziplines leading to the island, or if you fancy a swim you can take a dive and approach via water.

How to get into Warlord Rainmaker's fortress in MW3 Zombies

To get into Warlord Rainmaker's Fortress there are a few hoops to jump through. You'll first need a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard, some extra firepower, and finally the Rainmaker Fortress Keycard. All of these can be obtained in a fairly quick manner.

How to get the Mercenary Stronghold Keycard (Map)

You'll have two options for getting the Mercenary Stronghold Keycard. First, you'll want to open your Tac-Map and find a Mercenary Camp. Avoid any camps in the Tier 2 or 3 Exclusion Zone since it adds extra difficulty for you and your squad. Once you've found the camp, head over there and mop up any mercs in the area. Inside the camp there will be a chest for you to loot, which grantees a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard.

The second option is to head to any Buy Station and purchase a Mercenary Stronghold Keycard for 2000 credits. This option may be viable for those with more cash or who wish to complete a quick contract rather than search the map for a merc camp.

How to get the Rainmaker Fortress Keycard (Map)

After retrieving the Mercenary Keycard either from the Mercenary Camp or a Buy Station, head to a Mercenary Stronghold. Inside you'll find a small army ready to storm you with riot shields and pelt you with grenades. Make sure you've got your best loadout for this objective. As you work your way through the Stronghold you'll find a safe (usually located on the second floor).

Breach the safe and lockdown the area as a couple of waves of mercs will try to stop you from stealing their loot. Once the safe is opened, take the Rainmaker Fortress Keycard and head straight to the man himself.

How to beat Warlord Rainmaker in MW3 Zombies

As you approach the island you'll notice the annoyingly accurate payloads being dropped on your head; Rainmaker employs Mortar crews to rain explosives onto his enemies constantly. Your best option here is to storm the island with speed and take the ziplines across the water while dropping any enemy combatants as you go. Be warned: Rainmaker has more than mortars up his sleeves; you'll find C4 tripwires and Claymores scattered across the island.

As you move through the compound clearing booby-traps, you'll find you have two choices. You can enter the building immediately and face the boss or expertly dispatch all foes surrounding the area before tackling the Warlord.

I was lucky enough to find a Juggernaut package allowing me to get into Rainmaker's face and out-duel him. If you're having trouble and aren't as lucky, you can spend a few minutes gathering some credits to Pack-a-Punch your weapon to give it some extra kick.

A quick tip: Sometimes you can be lucky enough for a Buy Station to spawn on Rainmaker's island. If that is the case, you can quickly stock up on armor plates whenever you are low.

What does Warlord Rainmaker drop? (All rewards)

After slaying the beast you'll be rewarded with the DG-56 Clean House blueprint and two more random items. Surprisingly, the DG-56 blueprint doesn't unlock the weapon outside of MW3 Zombies, so completionists looking for cool cosmetics won't find one here. Of the remaining two piece of loot you can expect to find one legendary tier wonder weapon and a completely random epic-grade piece of loot. All that's left to do is extract without accidentally tripping a few Claymores on the way out.
