How to find and defeat the Dokkaebi warlord in MW3 Zombies

Dokkaebi Fortress guide!

The Season 1 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies replaced the Legacy warlord with Dokkaebi. Here's how to find and take out the new mercenary boss in MWZ.

Where to find the Dokkaebi warlord in MW3 Zombies

The Dokkaebi warlord can be found on top of the tall under-construction skyscraper in Zaravan City (see map). Before you proceed to this location in the Tier 2 or Medium Threat Zone, I suggest you collect important gear like armor plates and self-revive kits. More importantly, you'll need the Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard to reach the warlord.

How to get the Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard in MW3 Zombies

Follow these steps to acquire the Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard in MWZ.

  • Head to the nearest Mercenary Camp on the map (first image) and clear out the threats there.
  • Acquire the Mercenary Stronghold Keycard (second image) from the supply cache.
  • Now, open a Mercenary Stronghold (third image) using the key, and take out the enemies.
  • Inside the building, you'll find a locked safe. Start drilling the safe and eliminate the enemy reinforcements.
  • Pick up the Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard and go to the Zaravan City skyscraper.

Alternate way to enter Dokkaebi Fortress in MW3 Zombies

Currently, there is a workaround to reach Dokkaebi using which you will not require a keycard. Go to the roof of the tall building next to Dokkaebi Fortress (see image) using the zipline or by taking the stairs. I took the horizontal zipline there (second image) and it led me straight inside the secure fortress. This method works as of now but the zipline may be removed soon.

How to enter the Dokkaebi Fortress in MW3 Zombies

There are multiple entrances to the building that will lead you to the central area, but each is guarded by automated bomb drones. Shoot down these lethal equipment before they explode on your face. In the central section, you'll find a wheelson (second image) with an automated turret. I managed to destroy it easily using a few Semtex and shooting at it.

Although the bomb drones will be a problem from here onwards until you defeat the warlord, they are easy to counter. Just beware of the red indicator and sound cue that tell you if these are close and don't let them explode too close to you. Enter either of the two elevators on the ground floor and use it to reach the roof of the building.

Use the Dokkaebi Fortress Keycard at the doors to unlock and enter the stronghold. Keep following the path ahead and fight off the mercenaries, bomb drones, and sentry turrets in your way. You'll then eventually arrive at the section where Dokkaebi will be hiding.

How to defeat the Dokkaebi warlord in MW3 Zombies

Dokkaebi has a lot of HP, but she can be defeated easily if you keep attacking her, stay patient, and keep your distance. As you can see in the first image, the warlord is indicated by a red marker, which makes her easy to spot. Once you take a few shots on her, Dokkaebi will relocate to another side of the skyscraper using her drones.

Go back the way you came and you'll stumble upon her. In the meantime, reinforcement helicopters will keep bringing in soldiers so take them out as well. Keep chasing Dokkaebi down as she flies away, shoot her and the drones, and she'll go down in no time.

Rewards for defeating the Dokkaebi warlord in MW3 Zombies

Once Dokkaebi is defeated, a reward rift will appear near you with some good loot items inside. I also found a weapon blueprint, but there's a catch. You'll be able to pick up the Mediator blueprint for the KVD Enforcer after defeating the Dokkaebi warlord. However, it's not unlocked permanently, even if you exfil with it. Therefore, there isn't any real unlockable reward for defeating the mercenary boss in MW3 Zombies.
