How to efficiently level up in MW3

There are several things that you can do to efficiently level up in MW3:

  • Play Ground War: This mode is my favorite in Modern Warfare 3. Although many will prefer the more traditional gameplay modes in this iteration, Ground War does offer the most opportunities to make significant XP gains due to its massiveness.
  •  Play the objectives: This advice directly ties into the previous one. Going for objectives scores massive amounts of XP and brings your team closer to winning a match, which scores extra, especially in Ground War. Being on the losing side is never fun, and playing the game like it is supposed to be played not only proves to be more exciting in the long run but also rewards you with bonus points upon match completion.
  • Play with friends: MW3 features a party bonus of 25% XP gained each time you join up with a friend. There is one caveat to this method: your friend must play on the same platform as you do. Otherwise, the bonus won't be applied. It's a strange decision, considering that MW3 has crossplay, but it is likely to avoid having parties with unfair advantages.

  • Hunt for killstreaks: Going for killstreaks may seem obvious enough, as killing many enemies gives you a lot of XP in the process. But the effect of scoring a good kill streak is two-fold. Eliminating a bunch of enemies can quickly turn the tide of a fight, preventing an objective capture or allowing your team to advance, thus contributing to your side getting that W.
  • Beat Daily challenges: These may seem easy enough, but the XP gain for daily objectives should not be underestimated, especially in the beginning when you're low level. Many of these will be straightforward tasks that should be attainable as you naturally play the game, but keep them in the back of your head so you don't accidentally miss an opportunity to get them as you play.
