How to play Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2

A two-on-two battle to the death...

CoD MW2's Season 3 release comes with a slew of new content and toys to play with. New cosmetics litter the store, and the introduction of the new Battle Pass makes it a ripe time for grinding. One of those new toys is actually an old one from a previous CoD game, a special game mode called Gunfight. Vets of the CoD franchise will likely be quite familiar with Gunfight, but for those of you who are newer, we've put together a quick guide on the mode to get you up to speed. Here's everything you need to know about how to play Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2.

What is Gunfight in MW2 Multiplayer

Gunfight is a small-scaled 2v2 mode that pits two teams of two against each other in a LMS (Last Man Standing) setting. Matches are quick due to the small number of players. In every round, participants are given a random loadout and must take out the enemy team or capture the flag point before time expires. Loadouts are shuffled periodically as games play out, and the first team to six total round wins is the victor of the match.

Tips for winning Gunfight in Modern Warfare 2

Winning Gunfight is about patience and trigger discipline. With only two enemies on the map, there is a lot more room for tactical play, much like in Search and Destroy. Pieing corners and communication are also paramount to Gunfight, because the TTK (Time to Kill) in CoD is so short. In most situations, the first to see the enemy and fire typically wins the match-up.

The best way to treat Gunfight is, as mentioned, like Search and Destroy but on a smaller scale. Callouts and general proper teamplay are advised, especially when you're playing against a duo queue team. Since weapons are randomized constantly, we also recommend you be well-versed in most of the available arsenal in Modern Warfare 2.
