How to unlock Welgun SMG in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone

Welgun Submachine Gun was added to Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific with the Season 1.5 update. To try out the new SMG, you will have to unlock it first by completing specific challenges.

How to unlock Welgun in Vanguard Multiplayer

Challenge: Get 10 kills with an SMG while aiming-down-sights (ADS) in a single match, 15 times.

The challenge is pretty straightforward, but it can be tedious since you have to complete each match. The most efficient way would be playing the Team Deathmatch or Free-For-All game modes. Also keep in mind that eliminations don't count towards progress, only full kills do.

How to unlock Welgun in Vanguard Zombies

Challenge: Get five rapid critical kills with an SMG during 50 different portal objectives.

Critical kills are easy to get, and they kill zombies faster, simply aim and shoot at their heads. These kills also need to be rapid, which means you have to position yourself and time the shots correctly. The Zombies challenge is easy per se, however, it is more time-consuming than the others.

How to unlock Welgun in Warzone Pacific

The Welgun SMG unlock challenge in Warzone is the same as Vanguard Multiplayer. The only difference is that you don't have to complete a match to progress. Simply drop into a game of Plunder, get 10 ADS kills with any SMG of your choice, back out of the game, and repeat the process.

Evidently, completing the challenge in Vanguard Multiplayer seems to be the fastest out of the three methods. Nonetheless, feel free to unlock the Welgun in any game mode of preference. Additionally, you can purchase a Welgun weapon blueprint from the store and use it right away, but you will not be able to swap attachments unless you unlock it.
